With the explosion of smart phones, tablet computers and ubiquitous, always-on Internet connections, there's never a time where print seemed more obsolete. Books, magazines and all the minutiae that make up the total sum of humanity on dead trees have never seemed more quaint as it does today. Kimberly Kane and I, Bobbi Starr, are rebelling against Facebook updates, Twitter followers and blog posts to produce something that you, our fans, can touch, feel and actually own. We are publishing a zine, or for those of you who barely remember the '90s, a short run art magazine that will be compiled from photos and letters from you — our fans. In short — we need you now. This zine, with contributions by and from all of you, will be a tribute to how important you are to both of us. It will not be a perfect thing remaining in a time-locked stasis of binary perfection on a hard drive until the sun turns into a red giant. The zines will be real and something that will be faded and well-worn over time, like a memory you always want to hold on to. We can't do this zine without any of you, the contributors to AdultDVDTalk.com. If you have something you'd like to share — photos you've taken of us at conventions, signings, appearances and even on set pictures (you know who you are) — send them our way, if you can. If you have a duplicate print, we'd prefer to have the physical photo(s). We're also still accepting letters. I laud the founding of your zine. Although I post a lot on here, I don't have any decent pictures and only my writings on fora on the net are my only footprints---except for a 3000 page fan novel about Xena, Warrior Princess! The revolution begins here! I applaud your sentiments Miss Starr. I am no luddite, I've always embraced technology as I've grown up through the computer revolution being a child of the late 70's. But twatter and facecock really do leave me cold, it's all an exercise in narcissism and vanity for the most part. I think it's great what you're doing as there's more effort and hard work that goes into such a project and you can gain a real sense of achievement from it. Unfortunately I have nothing worth contributing towards your efforts, never having the chance to meet any of you lovely ladies at conventions and the like. Nice idea! I don't know how big of help I could be, but I appreciate the thought and time you two are willing to put into this, and taking a stand over something that is so mainstream and common yet totally wrong on so many levels. Nice to know two of ya can show how smart and AWARE you are, without having the need to unnecessarily quote philosophers every 2 minutes, which even a 12 year old can do with access to Google and constantly insisting "like me, like me, I am so fuckin' smart!" Hint* Hint**. You being so fuckin' nasty and perverted helps too of course ;)
How about an fan art gallery section. People could send in their artistic impressions of the both of you, maybe have a poetry section too. Nothing says romance like anal sex.
Well it was more of a suggestion than anything else, something other people might like to do perhaps. Unfortunately I have no artistic talent in either of those departments sadly, although could give it a go I suppose. I don't know if you're familiar with Loaded magazine here in Britain which is part of the lads mags genre; but they have a rather amusing readers art section in there. Nothing says romance like anal sex.
