like the industry as a whole, her agent doesn't care about her personal wellbeing or helping her find professional help to deal with her issues
her agent just cares about her next booking to make their own $$$ profit from representing her to paying customers
no-one in the porn industry is willing to look out for their co-workers or people working for them, all talent is considered replaceable and it's seen as a "job" not a lifestyle, so the general attitude is if you don't work, you don't get paid
no agent works for free, just like no cameraman/director/production assistant is willing to work for free either

That's a tad over the top and cynical, obviously there is a lot of that in the adult and any industry for that matter but tbf we aren't there to asses a performer and their agent's relationship is, what kinda conversations and interactions are happening. Very well could be true her agent really doesn't care but we aren't there - I can't imagine that Kagney doesn't have some legit friends, people that care about her or that there aren't some decent, good people in the industry that want to help. For all we know people in the industry are worried and want/try to help but Kagney isn't really letting them. I checked out some of her posts and noticed that in some of her videos there are other people in the background with her, I'd be more worried about those people and they are part of the problem in any way and honestly those people are likely in just as bad of shape as Kagney is. Misery loves company and whatever Kagney's issue originally were have obviously warped out of control. Why she's hit a breaking point and gone off the deep end is for an actual doctor of some sort to figure out but clearly she needs some help. Her posts are a giant cry for help. As fans I would encourage us to notify known industry people and any mental health outlets so they can take the proper steps for Kagney's well being. Browsing through her page is really unsettling.
I do agree about the part the adult industry itself is heartless 💔 and each individual performer is out for themselves and themselves only with a very few exceptions, i talked to Rico Strong himself and he himself said that many people he worked with don't really talk after shoot has finished, that most coworkers just leave straight after shooting has finished, that its hard to build friendships within industry itself.
I do agree with Tommy Gunn when he said at times he feels broken by the industry, he said sex is a sacred act performed by human beings and that is hard not to build an attachment to his female coworkers during a scene but straight after the intimacy is gone and he feels like a mess, he comes in on a high but leaves set on a low, sadly this is how the adult industry operates, it must be tough being a performer at times.
I do think coworkers should be more supportive of one another and if they see bullying of a fellow performer or see that they are an emotional wreck they should just be supportive and give a helping hand 🖐, it really is cruel world out there.
Not saying Kagney doesn't have family or friends outside porn industry but it would be great if the industry can just be supportive during difficult times of her life and just reach out to her.
Like i remember watching August Ames tweets and she was clearly being bullied online and no performer said anything until the unthinkable had occured and that loss still upsets me to this day still thinking about it, she was a bright young star with untapped potential but the industry failed her, she is sadly missed now, point being more can be done.
^ & 2^ The only problem is that porn is the antithesis of the real world. And; while there a wide range of personalities in porn, if one were to do an in-depth study of said personalities, one would probably find a commonality of certain unhealthy traits/habits amongst a large group of performers. A prolonged career in porn combined with those habits does not end well.

That post was made on the 1st January 2021 well before Kagney started having personal issues, I'm not surprised that they are good friends since Kagney also resides in the Ohio state, hope for a speedy recovery for Kagney.
I completely agree with Mike over here, your points are well valid, i do think there is a certainly a combination of unhealthy traits which in turn leads to feeling a of emptiness and becoming soulless almost with long term damage left in place psychologically.
I do think maybe more can be done to help performers relieve whatever they have on their mind like, which they not be able to share with family or friends not within the industry after all, who would like to disclose their sex lives to their siblings (etc), so some sort of counselling wouldn't go amiss which in turn would help performers open up about personal issues daunting them, which in turn helping them lead happy close to normal lives as possible, maintaining a healthy conscience.
I do hope Kagney recovers in good time and this is a minor setback, if needed take a hiatus from everything and focus on looking after herself, this is the only logical step forward.

Her agents got back to me the other day and said she is doing good and is currently focusing solely on her pole dancing business ventures, its very unlikely she will be shooting porn this year.

Kagney Linn Karter has retired after 13 long years in the industry with 750 plus credits to her name, I do applaud her for being in the game so long, she provided us with incredible moments and scenes, for allowing us to be part of her adventure.
On her Instagram and Twitter bio, it's stated she has retired to focus on business.
A part of me is gutted to see her go as I did have a farewell showcase planned with her and another top female performer for whenever she did make a comeback, but life doesn't always go as planned and kodus to Kags aka KLK for having a remarkable career and leaving her mark.
she has retired "for good" before, many times, then returned for a few scenes before falling into another downward spiral and leaving/retiring all over again
I'm not mocking her addiction issues, but that was obviously a significant factor in her career and her issues throughout. if she's gone for good, then that's good for her as long as she's healthy and maintains a healthy living lifestyle
but I'm sorry, I've seen it before and I'm sure we'll see her come back again if she gets bored of her new venture or things don't play out as she'd hoped, I don't want it to happen for her sake but I wouldn't be surprised to say it's a "when" not an "if"
