^ Unfortunatelly nothing is as it was in porn. First there are no more companies which used to produce plot movies. Secondly COVID made a huge runaway to Onlyfans site. Thirdly there are no more superstar pornstars as it used to be. Further more, it might be me, but new pornstars are not even close to old ones in both looks and personality. There is no hype around them.

My concern that she doesn't even tend to try or care, some of the studios still shoot somehow quality scenes like evilangel, dogfart, brazzers, trueanal and I am not even mentioning legalporno which would've been amazing if they could shoot kagney in her peak. For a long time after watching a certain documentary where Kanye appear like a victim of porn I couldn't watch her scenes. And this was at her peak. Watched her arguing with her boyfriend about being gangbanged while he just sat at home loafing. It was quite harrowing. Yes, I do believe anyone who's seen it will see her as a victim and doesn't put in the effort on a subconscious level. Maybe she need a a scene from Jules Jordan or Mason to deliver on the performance level we all expect. These website shoots aren't doing her any good.
I thought Kagney had retired from the industry (again) and was just doing pole dancing/teaching instead in a post-porn life because she was burned out and was putting her health at risk in staying in the adult industry?
yet she's back again.... again. someone really needs to work with Kagney (this is her agent's responsibility!) and help her move on from the porn industry, it's not healthy for her to keep bouncing from civilian to adult work, then back to civilian again and again

You do realize that once a performer does porn the individual is basically blacklisted from the vast majority of civilian jobs right? Stupid but that's how things have been for years.
Not uncommon for performers to retire and then comeback when left with few options and are accustomed to living a certain way.
Vast majority of agents are of questionable character so don't expect them to be saviors. Most of them only care about earning money for themselves, getting laid because they couldn't before working in the industry or enjoy having control/power/influence.
Most agents don't have FU money to comfortably retire at any time except for maybe Mark Spiegler who made his fortune in stocks prior to becoming an agent and did so only in the beginning as a favor and is probably more of a fun hobby for him than a business he heavily depends on.
IMO Kags never retired. She had to take breaks for known reasons and she wanted to take breaks for known reasons, concentrating on other things. Her pole fitness studio is up and running and about to celebrate its 2nd anniversary. Why not shoot a couiple of scenes to add a litlle bit? It's not like she has new scene out every week. I guess there were around 10 scenes released this year, some which have been in the can for some time.
Correct. An agent books his clients for job, the client does the job, both people get paid. Look at the industry from the top down instead of looking from the bottom up with rose colored glasses and star crossed eyes. You'll find that the porn industry is just another faction of show business, and that very world is littered with bodies and train wrecks along the way whether it be TV, music, film, or porn. Show business is a meat grinder.
The meat grinder is worse for porn given the short life span or a career, age of a performer, shady character of people in industry, etc.

On 4/1, I stopped by a porn store to get a magazine bundle pack for a Revenge of the Nerds pie plate joke. Randomly grabbed a 2 pack of old Hustlers for $13.00. I opened the package and the realized it was an April issue. A few pages in, I actually was acquainted with the girl in the pictorial, having met her and broke bread with her at AVN years ago about a year after the issue was out.
