It's ironic that I'm actually having a planning meeting with my partner today to discuss where everything is at with my "career". I've really been focusing a lot on my camming and personal website & video clips. Those two do very well for me, so I never had planned to be a girl who had to shoot all of the time to make ends meet. Doing mainstream work was always a way for me to explore some my sexual side more, while getting a larger exposure for my in-house endeavors. However, it's still a little head scratching as to why I haven't had more offers, especially since I'm Florida based and there are plenty of studios in Miami. I've gone to L.A. three times now. The first trip was amazing and I was working EVERY day there, during the slow Christmas season no less. Second trip was right after AVN and I had to cut it short due to catching the flu really bad (was not going to get other talent sick. Sorry, not sorry). The last trip seemed kind of a waste, as there was not much on the table. I can only make two assumptions. A.) My agent has put me on the back burner promoting me to studios. I can't see why that would be, since if I make money, they make money. Win-win. B.) Despite another performer who posts in these forums incessantly, claiming that the industry only wants petite barely legal girls with no tattoos or piercings, my look is not what the studios or mainstream viewers want. I see who follows/unfollows me on Twitter. I see guys who still follow performers who are my contemporaries that have left the industry all together, but those guys have chosen to unfollow me. I don't know what to say to that. I'm a nerd, I like weird, geeky things. I have braces and I'm pale. I like skirting age play/barely legal/taboo topics in my videos. I do web camming and that won't stop. Some guys don't view cam performers as porn people, some don't like the homemade quality of the clip sites, some get turned off knowing that a cam girl they follow is now taking dick in videos for major companies. So many variables. Anyways, I'm still here. I read the ADT forums regularly btw. Still planning to shoot when my schedule permits. And I absolutely LOVE talking to fans & fellow pervs! Can happily say I shot for Brazzers and had an amazing time. Hoping for more shoots while out here, but it seems a little quiet otherwise. Keeping positive though! The guys are Motley Models really have been great to me and I know they're working hard to get me booked. While here I'm planning to do some shooting for my own site. I'm working out scheduling with other girls to do some super naughty stuff with for it. They have good names in the biz too and they're totally smoking hot, so I hope I get to play with them! And I'm camming some too from the model house. Hoping to cam by the pool even. Never got to do that before! Otherwise, I'm just hanging out and having fun with other performers! I've been camming for 4 years and I've been shooting pro-am and fetish stuff up until last year. The fetish stuff just isn't really me and the rates paid for pro-am don't even come close to what I can do with my own stuff. I've been focusing on camming and my own content more and that's served me well. As for shooting for the pro-porn side, it's been hit or miss. Since December I've made 3 trips now to Porn Land in LA and I've only shot for 8 companies total. Two of those companies I've shot for twice. If I have to broaden my ambitions out the gate, I don't know if that's really the answer and I really see myself burning out quicker than I or my fan base would like. I want to have fun with this and explore more. I want to do more girl-girl, more threeways...hell...more boy-girl. And right now that seems like small returns for me. It's not a complaint, just the way it is. The industry is down and there are more girls than ever willing to fuck on film. My current trip (I'm in LA right now) seems to be pretty dead other than my Brazzers shoot. And I'm seeing a shit ton of girls piling in fresh off the bus to work and getting shoots. So it's either my agent, the industry being down or something producers don't like about me. There are many performers who never broadened their scope and have done just fine. And there are girls who do it all and still can't get booked. If where I'm at with shoots right now is all I'm able to get booked, then I'm completely fine being a bigger fish in a small pond than a small fish in the ocean. I don't plan to be a flash in the pan. My goal is to be around for awhile, even if the major companies aren't interested. Except for a very few models, the only way to make a decent living in this industry is to be that big fish in a small pond. The whole business model has changed (Manwin/Mindgeek) and there truly are never ending streams of newbies. I do believe you are on the right path, and just need to keep doing what you are doing, but maybe a bit more so. You are very open about your personal life, and I think your fans really appreciate that. (You DO have 18k+ Twitter followers, BTW.) Adding some Periscope vids of you doing real, mundane things could be a plus, as long as it doesn't interfere with your personal life. The people that like you, really like you. I assume Motley is still your agent. They seem to be able to promote some models very well and others just so-so. Don't know how that works. Wish you the best of luck on this trip. Keep us informed! Click to expand Sorry it's taken me a bit to respond. Nothing bad happened on my last trip, but then again, not much happened at all. Unfortunately, I'm just not getting much, if any, bookings and the cost for me to travel (airfare, driver fees, agent fees, testing, etc.) and to sit at a "model house" or stay with a friend like Alex Harper outweighs my living expenses back home. So really, it's just a case of economics. Moving to L.A. is just not something I'm willing to do either. I've been trying at the pro side of the industry for 2 years. There just comes a point if it ain't happening, it ain't happening. I'm not what mainstream porn is looking for I guess. I don't/won't shoot anal. I was open to boy-boy-girl and IR scenes, but I'm a back burner girl with agents, so it never really got talked about with anyone in a serious, sober manner. As for shooting in other locales, same issue as L.A., just no interest it appears. Please don't take that as me slamming the industry. I enjoyed my run at it. The friends I've made through it with producers & other performers has been amazing. I can say I have no regrets overall. So, I'm not retiring from the adult industry. I've been camming & filming my own videos for 4 years and will keep doing such. That part is definitely worth it and I love it. Shooting mainstream was never a way to just promote my cam stuff, so I hope that's not why people think I'm stopping. As odd as it sounds, I just can't afford to work in mainstream porn. (BTW, two years is a great accomplishment in the porn industry!) You make a very good point, that new talent needs to hear: there is no guarantee that good looks and hard work will bring you fame and riches. From what I can see, you've done everything right, and while you're definitely NOT a failure, even though you never made it over that proverbial hump. But you've done good work, thrilled many and made the profession a better place for humans to be. Your initial emphasis on the tug was clever and quite unique. I was approached by Society 15 to join their team. After some lengthy discussion with them, I'm super happy to have them as my new agent. I did venture back to L.A. last week and had some new agency photos done and met with several studios for casting and such. No new scenes just yet, but it's looking like some really good stuff in the works. Nothing I'm able to openly discuss just yet though. I'll be heading back to L.A. in early June though and if things work right, I'll be out there more often. As always, still camming & doing my own thing. Hugs to you all! [Link]
