I have been very impress with there service and turn around time. 95% I get my dvd's in 2 days after reciving, the longest wait is 1 week (happen twice). I live in northern cal. Withen the last 18 months I only have 2 missing dvd's and 1 badly scratched dvd that was replaced after reporting it. It was shipped out immeditaily to me. I just wanted to praise them for the good job they have done, and they are my first online dvd I have ever tried. Bushdvd reminds me of a mom and pop online store for internet locals. Keep up the good work guys and gals! my last dvd rental someone smelled really good! lotion or shampoo....who was it? [Link] |

Bush DVD has the best prices I have seen online, but I am not impressed with the service. I live on the west coast and I'd say about 50% of the dvd's reach me in 2-3 days. In the 6-9 months I have been with Bush, I have had at least 1 title a month take 2-3 weeks to show. On one occasion the title didn't show for 6-8 weeks and it was returned to sender and never reached me. Bush can't be resposible for the postal service, but they make no concession in lieu of that. I was with Sugar for about 18 months, and the only reason I left them was because they didn't have many titles that were more than 2-3 old and I like to mix mid to late 90's titles in my queue. If a title was late of lost with Sugar, they would rush you out a title, or work with you on some sort of concession. I also have noticed that a great many titles I have recieved from Bush have been heavily scratched and some cracked. DVD Technology allows most titles to play even though they are scratched, but some Bush title are so scuffed that my player won't even load. Either way, good prices with Bush, but their service gets an "F" in my book. [Link] |

Service with them has gotten much, much worse as of late. I posted my experiences in this thread. Turnaround is 7+ days shipping and receiving titles. While the postal service is an element of delivery, these instances should be the exception, not the norm.https://www.adultdvdtalk.com/forum/topic.dlt/whichpage=14/cat_id=2/forum_id=4/topic_id=24110/24110.htm Edited by - shark1 on 11/21/2005 6:58:58 PM

Pocketcomb, when you have had a mailer that takes longer than 7 days to get to/from you do you use the "Report Problem" link in your rental queue to let BushDVD know of the problem? You say they make no concession for delays in the postal service. I've been with BushDVD for 2 years now. On the few occasions where a mailer took 7 days or longer in transit I've used the report problem link and they imediately ship out the next two titles in my queue. Also as to cracked/overly scratched unplayable discs. This rarely happens to me. Maybe six months ago I got a cracked disc. I used the report problem link and the next two discs in my queue were immediately shipped out to me. Just last week I recieved a disc, it wasn't scratched but had weird marks on the back. They almost looked like marks from being exposed to heat or some kind of chemical. Anyways it wouldn't play, I used the report problem link and they sent out a replacement copy of the same movie. Now that's a little bit shitty, I'm losing a few days there. In the past if a disc had a problem they sent out the next two discs in my queue. But overall, my experience with them for resolving postal delays/unplayable discs has been quite good.Edited by - Daedrian on 11/22/2005 6:19:28 PM [Link] |

I got no reason to lie. I state the facts as they unfold. Yes I use the link and I find the service at Bush to be "Bush League". Maybe the disc are scratched and cracked because I order older titles, but that doesn't excuse them for not maintaining stock. Once again, I can't hold them accountable for the mail until I make them aware and as of late (last 3 months) 25% of my titles take at least twice as long as they used to. We all have "OUR" experiences and I wouldn't reccomend Bush to anyone that is concerned with service, speed or resolution. If you want the cheapest online rentals, use Bush. Just be sure to look up all deffinitions of the word "Cheap". Service sells, and it's obvious to me why other companies charge a little bit more. [Link] |

"Service sells, and it's obvious to me why other companies charge a little bit more."So, how much better is the service from Bush's competitiors? From the posts I've seen, there doesn't seem to be much difference. In fact, Bush might be better than most. [Link] |

I already stated how much better the service was a Sugar, and I stated why I left Sugar for Bush. One thing about great service, you never know what it is until your experience it. Sugar treats their customers better than Nordstroms would. If the postal service fail, they send you a new title right away, they don't make you wait weeks to see what turns up. Sugar also won't charge you for movies you don't get, IE. If the postal service is so slammed that movies take 6-8 days instead of 2-3 Sugar will work with you to make sure you are satisfied. I'm not telling anyone to boycott Bush and I've said many positives about them, but when the service goes south with Bush, don't complain cause based on multiple accounts here, THEY DON'T CARE! Good to see a thread about BushDVD. We came here to get info on the best DVD rental shop - understanding that some will be better than others in different ways. We are trying BushDVD to start. So far, so good. We are running 3-4 days mail time to Texas. Our queue is about 30 titles. We are not getting our highest priority picks but that's understandable since they are popular titles. We don't know their algorithm for filling the queue - i.e. when a title is in stock, what rules determines who gets it next. I'm sure there is a delicate balance between keeping customers happy with multiple copies of titles and increasing profit by NOT buying too many titles... We try to keep in mind that rental porn in a "Netflix model" means hopefully getting what you want as soon as possible but no guarantees - this is not video on demand. On the other hand, the variety is pretty impressive and we couldn't find a better value. Our best recommendation with BushDVD: go for MORE movies that you might expect and avoid the low price 2 movie plan. For example, the 4 movie plan, at best, gives you about 16 movies per month or about $1.40 per dvd AND you have 2 separate shipments (BushDVD likes to ship 2 disks per envelope) so if the USPS drags on 1 shipment (2 disks) then you aren't pissed off while you check your mail box 3 times a day and cussing out your mail carrier! We might have to go up to the 6 or 8 title plan just to totally eliminate the stress over the potential of slow mail delivery - We DO BELIEVE that BushDVD is NOT responsible for slow delivery by USPS ... but the alternatives (FedEx and UPS) are much more expensive. If we run into serious issues, we'll keep you updated - otherwise BushDVD seems to be working for us. Happy Viewing! PS - if you use BushDVD then keep a source of movie REVIEWS handy (in your browser favorites) because BushDVD doesn't have detailed reviews and their "ratings" are not supported with commentary. Update. I just got my next two DVD's from Bush after returning my last two on Monday. So a one week turnaround essentially (not counting Thanksgiving Day). Considering I live on the east coast, I can't complain at all. So far. [Link] |

Ever since words were exchanged on another long running thread I have seen a huge inprovement in Bush's turnarounds. This, at a time when service is known for becoming sluggish and unreliable. I don't know about the rest of you, but it leads me to believe that the CEO got off his ass and made something happen. Even though he insulted me and called me a liar I will tip my hat because a quick turnaround and enforcement of procedure only happens when you put your money where your mouth is. Just goes to show that a shipment in hand is worth two in the Bush. [Link] |

OK - we did a little test and here are the results:Monday - Mailed 2 mailers (4 disks) simultaneously - in time for the last daily pickup by the USPS from Austin to San Diego; 1 mailer takes 2 days to return to Bush then 5 days to get back to us (not counting Sunday); 1 mailer takes 4 days to return to Bush then 3 days to get back to us (not counting Sunday). So - both exactly 7 days (not including Sunday) for a round trip. Don't know about you but .... that's GREAT for us - certainly satisfactory. It also proves that the USPS can vary quite a bit in either direction. At this point a MUCH BIGGER issue is WHAT type of movies do we like - as any reader of ADT would already know. The reviews are helpful but not as good as a real viewing - which is why rental is the perfect option for us and so far BushDVD is meeting our expectations. Happy Viewing and Happy Holidays! I thought the turn around time would get worse around Christmas, but I've been getting ALL my dvd's on time for the past couple of months. With the 6-out plan, I've been watching way too much porn, which I'm very thankful for :) Thanks, Bush!
