Interesting. LT, would you mind elaborating on why you're not interested in shooting certain girls? I understand a lack of interest in Cassidy Banks or Anya Ivy, considering they don't shoot with black male talent. But Chanell Heart and Skyler Nicole do shoot with black male talent, so why not shoot them? I know the politics of the industry might stop you from answering fully, but I'd love if you can shed some light on this. The reason I ask is because there was a thread on here on "The Rise and Fall of the Black Female Performer" and in that thread I had a theory that the lack of black directors contributed to the lack of prominent black female performers. With you back at EA, I had hoped that you'd want to help bring black performers back to the forefront. So I'm just wondering why you're not interested in certain performers?
Well I shot Skylar for West Coast and Black Magic pictures in which I was the male talent, that was awhile ago, since all of the black female stars are retired or in jail, I have to find new talent because that's what i'm about. And Chanel has been around for awhile now, I've shot her for Black Market, James shot her for West Coast a few times and she's been in Elegant's stuff recently and on the cover, I coming in trying to shoot some black talent that's NEVER shot for Elegant before[like Cherry Hilson, Jazzy Jamison, Kiara Noir] and give them a shot at some main stream promotion, so like it or not, that's my plan. But LT, don't you think part of what made those girls you mentioned superstars, was opportunity? Of course the girls Dat1Dude mentioned aren't superstars, but part of it is because they don't get booked. There aren't enough studios, directors and sites that are prominently featuring black performers. Like, the way you featured girls like Jada, Jazmine, Carmen, etc. and got great performances out of them is part of what helped them be superstars. We'd all love it if they came back, yes, but that's not happening. So all we can do is request the girls Dat1Dude mentioned, the ones that have showed some potential to be great if given the opportunity to do so. I guess what I'm asking is, how can any current black performer become a superstar when there is a lack of opportunity available for black performers?
