After a deceade of some decent male pornstars (jordi, Ricky Spanish, Jimmy Michaels, Diego perez, juan loco, parker sims) rising, i feel like the industry has hit a stalemate. We see in pornsites like brazzers the same male pornstars all over again (keiran lee, Manuel ferrara, danny d). We even see pornstars at their thirties with massive muscles like Nathan Bronson etc play as the virgin stepsons, making these scenes completely unwatchable for me. The younger older category has pretty much died and needs a whole new generation to be revived. Pornstars like victor ray that are muscle jacked can't play the vulnerable stepson role, cause of their look. We need thin innocent looking guys. Let me know what you think of this
It's always been a challenging business for male performers in ways that are different from how it is challenging for females. Guys are typically viewed as props, when they perform well they blend into the background, but when they perform poorly it becomes glaringly obvious. You have to be able to get your dick hard and keep it hard for hours at a time which usually requires pharmaceuticals. You have to be ready to go sometimes multiple times a day, you ever watch a scene that ends with a pop shot that requires you to rewind backwards to see if anything actually came out? That scene is probably the fourth load the guy blew that day and is tapped out. They also don't necessarily get much say in who they perform with, even if it's someone they have no chemistry with or don't find physically attractive, whereas female performers can usually pick and choose partners they are comfortable with. That's the other thing too, women aren't just comfortable with anyone, they want partners who they've worked with before or come recommended by people they trust, so even if you did want to break into the industry, that alone makes it difficult.
So yeah, in many ways I would say guys in this business have it even tougher than the girls (and the girls already have it extremely tough) that it doesn't surprise me that more guys don't get into it.
^ I suspect you're right on all counts, Tony. What guy hasn't dreamed of being in the porn business where all you do all day is have sex with hot women? But as you point out, that's pure fantasy and reality is likely very different.
Agreed and that's the reason they get paid so much. After all there are a lot harder works out there. But you tell me 2-3 guys can't make it to the industry?? Or nowadays the industry rejects them. I really don't know what's the deal
I was not a fan of the weedy looking men that looked like kids i liked the early days of brazzers with the likes of Johnny & Scott
Speaking of brazzers it feels like an old boys club if Kieran likes you you get booked sorta thing, looking after his mates but all the old boys you mentioned are high up or run their own business so that's prob the answer the old guys put themselves and their mates first. If you were the producer you would prob do the same.
But i do agree jacked up guys should not be playing the shy step-son and we need a good few new talent in the top sites, studios. You will have more selection in the lower end of the market maybe a big site can take a risk and call a few of them up.
Man i can't remember the last time i seen a good cum shot.
Most male performers are so overworked they barely have anything left to come out at the end. So many scenes end with a guy needing to violently stroke his cock for several minutes just to try and muster a couple of drops to come out

I feel like new male talent suffers from one of three issues: looks, ability and performance. Why do I say looks? Because we're past the Ron Jeremy stage of porn where you can be an ugly man and still make the female talent look awesome. Call me odd or lame, I feel like male talent needs to look good with the girls they are working with. Ability - it's not simply about keeping your dick hard, you have to be able to convincingly handle the female talent in a variety of positions that not only ideally make her look good but that makes every thrust feel like bliss leading to orgasm. More challenging to pull this off without looking entirely too mechanical in the process which has often been one of my regular complaints about B/G. I've watched a few new male talents and their scenes leave alot to be desired; too passive, look like a deer caught in headlights or some skinny dude who is barely packing anything that remotely looks like it could wear out a wet hungry pussy. The bar to hit for new male performers is: Manuel Ferrera, Mick Blue, Seth Gamble, Nathan Bronson, Small Hands, Tommy Pistol. All of these gentlemen have proven to be able to rock in a scene making the girl look good and getting to look like a veteran talent in the process. Which leads me to performance, if you want to be versatile enough to be in scenes from Pure Taboo, MissaX, AllHerLuv, Deeper, Sweetheart Video . . . being able to stay hard isn't going to be enough. You actually have to be able to ACT and get hard/stay hard when it's time to get down and dirty. Seth & Tommy Pistol are among the best at this followed by Small Hands, Nathan Bronson and who can forget the brilliant Derrick Pierce? Or the remarkable Michael Vegas? I'm not sure if we need these veterans to hold a workship or have a seminar on how to be the next great male adult performer but the new class has yet to leave me impressed.
Why is it there so many more European guys working in American porn than American guys? Right now you have Keiran Lee, Christian Clay, Chris Diamond, Manuel Ferrara, Mick Blue, Milan, Vince Karter, Alberto Blanco, Ramon Nomar, Mike Adriano, Tommy Wood, Alex Legend, Jordi, Alfie Cinematic, Steve Holmes, Markus Dupree, Denis Marti, Toni Ribas, Ian Scott, Danny Mountain, Chris Charming, Marco Banderas just to name a few. Is it they have bigger dicks, better at fucking, etc? The girls seem to praise them for their fucking ability like all the women seem to love Manuel Ferrara. Are the American male performers just bad at sex? These guys I listed you'll see in 90 percent of American porn from the last 20 years or so. Cherry Kiss did an interview recently talking about the difference between US and American porn and she said European performers being more reliable is one of the big differences. Basically saying American porn guys can't fuck as good, hence why so many are from Europe. Also the white European performers tend to be more hung than white American male performers.
The male talent is the worst it's been in 20 years, too many talents are juiced up roids and they just can't perform.
Vince Karter, Sheem The Dream, GI Joe, Cristian Clay, Danny Steele, Mike Hunt are absolute garbage performers and their scenes are unwatchable. The fact Vince Karter won MFOTY, for a guy you has never been able to provide a satisfactory cumshot is comical and shows how bad the industry is. Same goes for the other 2.

I don't think looks matter necessarily from the viewers standpoint, in fact I would bet most viewers would prefer more normal looking male talent that isn't jacked, hairless, with an 8 inch package, but female talent get a ton of agency over who they work with these days, and producers know that the females don't want to perform with someone who looks old, fat, out of shape, hasn't shaved in months, so that's why you get the interchangeable male porn actor look.

The answer to your question is that Europe has a practical approach to sex work, unlike the US where a growing number of hypocrites want to ban that but facilitate other insidious things. Being a pornstar in Europe is like being a rockstar if you please or at the very least, you are not liable to be as harassed as you will be here. That's why Samantha Rone and Tera Patrick moved there among other reasons. Given the love of gaping, I guarantee you some of the new male talent doesn't really have that capacity with what they are packing. You'll argue that looks don't matter but let me ask you this - how many male performers do you see that are beyond the Ron Jeremy standard of being not even conventionally attractive who are getting booked? From Tommy Gunn to Jonny Sins to Ricky Johnson to Xander Corvus to Ryan McClane to Ryan Driller to Keiran Lee to Chad White. When I say that looks matter, you don't want a male performer that a female talent can't bear to even look at much less one who is so horrific to look at that it detracts from the scene. A good comedian named Ron White kind of covered this when he said that every guy watching porn is gay to some extent because we want to see studs or at least some average yet on the better looking side of average man rock a woman's world. I can say having read a number of threads, you'd be surprised at the number of fans who find scenes unwatchable not on account of the guy not being able to stay but something about him they find outright impossible to ignore and get excited over regardless of if he is working with their favorite girl.
1 - Looks do matter that is just the way our brains are wired you want to see studs & Babes.
2 - New talent look like deer in highlights because they are new its the same has when you start a new job just takes time to feel it out, Think back to when you were young and starting your first job or jobs.
3 - European guys working in American porn is because like i said before a lot of them run the business or are producers so they look after their mates.
I mean you're always going to have selection bias in porn, male porn actors on average are going to have bigger dicks, more stamina, ripped bodies, etc. so I don't think there's any scientific basis to saying these features are unique to any one ethnic group.
I'm honestly surprised by some of these comments. I think we're legitimately entering an era where the male pornstar can be, equal to how we seek out specific girls' scenes, a reason for a man to seek out his specific vids, not because the viewer is attracted to the male pornstar but for several reasons, like that he typically has good synergy with the girls (Johnny Sins), does videos with a ton of passion (Ryan Madison), or does a lot of videos really well within a certain genre (Max Fills).
I do, agree, though, that some actors are oversaturating the market. It does seem like it's the same guys over and over. Guys like the ones above, plus Nathan Bronson, Isiah Maxwell, JMac, Jason Luv, Manuel Ferrera, Dredd, Jax Slayer, Zac Wild, Tyler Nixon, etc. While I do enjoy most of these guys' scenes, it can be a bit tiresome to see them over and over, but they do such good work I don't mind it too much.
As for the overworked portion, I agree. Max Fills talked about this in a recent PlugTalk podcast. He said he shoots every other day, and he's gotta keep up his load amount so when he has sex with Hailey in their personal lives he often has to refrain from cumming. That has to suck.
And on the "new actors who look younger" topic, it was discussed a while ago here: https://forum.adultdvdtalk.com/new-younger-male-talent-in-the-business . Jimmy Michaels is still around and, despite being 26 currently, I believe, still looks pretty young. But he's been sort of type cast due to that look. I think there might be some actors who specifically don't want to be typecast like that since Jimmy doesn't seem to get "regular" (non-young/old, stepson/stepmom, stepbrother/stepsister, etc) content as much as the others.
At the end of the day, I sort of compare these established stars to, say, the HotGuysFuck series, which features amateur men (though almost always the muscley type). So many of them are pretty.. let's say.. inexperienced when it comes to porn. The motions, the style, the emotions, even the camera angles, there's a lot left to be desired. Though perhaps that's also part of the point: the inexperience makes the scenes a bit more amateurish and more relatable, at least in some ways (or for some guys, who aren't weirdly flexing while fucking a girl in doggy, lol).
This is getting off topic a bit, but man, HGF has the absolute worst cinematography in all of porn. I swear, they intentionally tell their camera operators to only shoot angles where you can see none of the action, or film from 30 yards away. While I can appreciate the amateurish quality to it, there's a line between amateurish and low rent, and when your camera guy is falling asleep and then running to keep up performers, that crosses it.
It's more the fact Euro men are bisexual or straight for pay. Euro men can't even stay hard for scenes or use fake cum. 80% of their scenes are DP or DAP where the rub against another penis lol. All male talent have big dicks you can't say one group is better hung than the other, they all the same overall. And fuck better? lol. All the women are faking, they acting, it's a job. They there to get paid nothing more nothing less. Longer? Euros can't even stay hard in most the the scenes it's funny, most of the scenes are using fake cum in Europe. It's unwatchable at this point.

I've browsed a few agency websites to see if there are any promising newcomers: Tom Scruise looks promising and apparently has a 10 inch cock for all of you fans who are not happy unless a female talent is getting stretched, Leon Pheonix just from looking at his agency pics - I feel like he could channel the vibe of someone like Small Hands, Jason Sarcinelli - could pull off being a hybrid of Marcus London and the retired Steven St Croix I think, Gunnar Bishop - definitely could be an up and comer right behind Nathan Bronson, Ellis Camino - from the description in his bio - could become an MVP like Tommy Pistol if used correctly, Blake Bullet - fascinating young man who loves the thespian side of porn as much as the fucking which could make him a future ideal candidate for PureTaboo and MissaX, Austin Pierce - basically the Kevin Richardson doppleganger of porn and I mean that literally,

This may not be popular but why would a guy want to get into porn in the first place? Let's assume for a minute you have looks, an above average sized cock, you know how to use it, and you have a great personality (ok, lots of porn dudes lack this, but let's say you have it). The only way you'd do porn is if you lack the ability to make a living any other way. Other than having an average size cock, I have everything else. Prior to meeting the woman of my dreams and getting married, I never had a problem meeting women and getting laid. If I went out, 9 times out of 10, I was hooking up. Granted, having money (of my own) at a young age made it much easier, but no way would I ever think of doing porn. When I'm with a lady, I want it to be just me and her (ok, and another girl at times) but no one else. No director, no sound guy, no lighting guy, no make-up woman and no stopping and starting again and certainly no non-realistic positions just so folks can see the good stuff. To me, if you're a guy and in porn it's due to one thing - you can't make a living any other way. Add in all the other drama and stigma that follows you the rest of your life and man, no thanks.

Chad Alva and Mike Quasar both had and I believe Chad continues to have a presence in music, Small Hands is a mainstream model and musician. Mick Blue races cars, Nathan Bronson is a stuntman - your argument is remarkably flawed. It sounds entirely too much like the anti porn lobby that wants to ban it all together because the implication is that you can't do anything after porn: real estate, bounty hunting, mainstream modeling, the medical field, music, Twitch streamer, accountant . . . plenty of people have come and gone on to lead successful civilian lives after porn. Please stop acting like it's some scarlet letter, you and I may not want to do porn as male talent but that's hardly a reason to shit on the industry as a whole for men.
On a different note, reading up on Vince Karter and with 1600 hundred credits - I'm shocked he's not as famous as Rocco or Manuel.

I think it's a budget issue in many ways. Studios and networks have to save money and that starts with the male talent. Directors often do without male talent, shoot scenes with themselves, even though they're not built for it and they're at an age where it's no longer fun to watch.
Then there are many networks that place no value on quality at all. They have found a niche for themselves where goofy comedy porn is shot. They book male talents who look like 12-year-olds. It doesn't matter that they're not talented and often don't even get an erection. It's low-budget trash porn.
The only network that still produces male talent is the Vixen Group. The rest of the industry has given up and no longer values good, credible male talent.

The OP was asking about the lack of new male performers and I responded from my perspective, that's all. I'm not trying to shit on the industry - I'm obviously a fan of it. I'm just responding to the post and pointing out that for many performers who try to lead a civilian life, having done porn closes certain doors and that's a fact whether you choose to acknowledge it or not.

Normally I would agree with you 100% but the past 25 years has proven that with the exception of jobs that involve being around students, jobs that carry a certain degree of prestige - the usual boundaries between sex work and the rest of the business world are proving to be far from etched in stone. An adult performer successfully transitioned from porn to mainstream media, courtesy of the show called Euphoria, I'm not even beginning to address the number of adult performers who come from the military or the sex workers on Reddit posting naughty selfies and clips from work. Yet they do it and still keep their jobs, I will give weight to part of your argument but I feel like sex work is expanding with technology that allows civilians to walk in both worlds.

I've noticed that the male performers have been trending older for a while now. I imagine part of the problem is that you have a generation of men whose entire adult lives have been in porn and subsequently will keep doing it until they can't. People like Mick Blue and Manuel Ferrara have been shooting porn for longer than many of the women they're booked with have even been alive. You also have the problem of directors dealing with a declining industry and not wanting to risk money on a new guy who can't perform. There's also something to be said about reflecting the audience watching. How many men under 40 do you think are paying for these sites in 2025? Granted, the bigger networks don't entirely rely on SVOD anymore and older men can fantasize about being a younger guy in a porn setup, but still.
Unlike with women, you can't really blame this on Onlyfans or self-produced content either. It's very difficult to be a successful straight male porn star in the indie space. The focus is typically on the women. Unless you've somehow built an audience of lonely women (or gay men), you're not benefitting from creepy parasocial relationships. Unless you're constantly shooting with a bunch of different notable girls (which isn't an easy thing to start doing), it's very difficult to build and maintain an audience. It's obvious some guys are buying social media engagement just to get that ball rolling. They're not just competing with the other indie porn men, but every established mainstream performer who does OF stuff, too. I guess it's up to the studios to try recruiting these guys while they're still nobodies because it is easier for men to make a name through the studios. Once they've "made it" as an indie there's no real reason for them to do mainstream porn. Girthmasterr was a nobody posting on Reddit for a year or two with no-name Australian women before he blew up. Shooting for Brazzers or whomever now isn't really going to make him more well known. Actually, I guess you could blame OF for locking some guys into shooting gay porn. You have lots of allegedly bi performers who are basically exclusively doing gay porn because that sells substantially more for them.
I don't think Vixen is particularly good at discovering (at least non-black) male talent. A lot of their guys are people who've been grinding away at other studios for a while. Parker Ambrose, Dan Damage and Matthew Meier are probably the only three who they've propped up in recent years. Parker started out doing the gay porn humiliation ritual before he was allowed to shoot straight porn elsewhere. Matthew is an obligatory "we need someone in Eastern Europe" pickup. Dan's the only one whose success is really tethered to them. Since OP mentioned the lack of younger looking guys, I am surprised they haven't booked Spiky Dee, Chris Lockwood or Jodie Johnson for Milfy. Though, I guess there aren't many chances to do that when it's a weekly site and at least half of the scenes feature black guys.
This is unrelated to the topic at hand, but I disagree with this characterization. Chloe Cherry isn't a mainstream actress. Compare her film and TV career to Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney or really, any other major cast member in Euphoria. Odds are you might've seen some of the stuff they've been in or at least recognize the companies that made it. Cherry, on the other hand? It's all niche indie stuff. Porn stars have been landing similar work for a very long time. I wouldn't call Sasha Grey a mainstream actress even though she starred in a movie with Elijah Wood and was in a Soderbergh film. You can make that argument when you see porn stars landing mainstream work that isn't playing a porn star, drug addict or prostitute in a project that more than 200 people will see.
Vince Karter is awesome. He is good at hardcore pounding and his scenes are always a much watch for me. Big dick and knows how to punish his female costars with it

But Manuel was the go-to guy for many studios for many, many years. With a Brazzers contract, Girthmaster ensures financial security, but is still not a talent who is widely noticed.

Rome was not built in a day, expecting a male talent to magically appear and be the top guy is unrealistic. Think of how long it took for Small Hands and Nathan Bronson to reach that higher tier, one thing I observed about both Manuel and Girthmaster is that they are both getting high praise from the top names like Luna, like Angela among others.
Speaking of rising stars, saw a clip about two female performers talking about Alex Jones' cock being magical and making them squirt so add him to the list of people with staying power.

It's not about becoming a big star overnight. But with a ZZ contract, you're not available to all the other studios. And this terrible Brazzers comedy porn only serves a very small part of the market and is therefore consumed by a small number of people. If you only shoot for one studio and are only seen by a small audience, you won't increase your chances of making a name for yourself.
Manuel isn't the name he is today because he's the best, but because he was everywhere and filmed with everyone.

Alex Jones has shot for: Digital Sin, PureTaboo, Reality Kings, Penthouse, Score, Dogfart, Deeper, Milfy, Mike Adriano, Evil Angel, Pornbox, Smash Pictures, Digital Playground, Wicked Pictures, Bellesa, AdultTime, LegalPorno - should I go on?
You're also overlooking the fact that the porn industry in 1998 is VERY different from the porn industry in 2025 so yeah, he might been everywhere but things have changed alot. Mick Blue has more scenes and screen time than he does, why? I'll give you a hint, it's not because he is everywhere. It's because he is that damn good and gets rave reviews from every female talent. Why do you think more female performers choose him to do their first anal scene over everyone else? I would also add that exclusive contracts are about money, which would you prefer? Working three or four different employers in a particular field just to break even or work with one that will all but double what you are getting paid by everyone else?

Aylo is likely the biggest porn producer on the planet and owns one of the largest tube sites (though, I have to wonder if that's still true given the age verification debacles this year). He is not going to struggle for exposure. He's kind of goofy looking himself with a comical dick, so he's perfect for their comedy slop.
He's already made a name for himself, which is why I thought he'd be someone unlikely to do mainstream. His X account's got nearly 900k followers. He claimed to be earning over $30k/month on Onlyfans last year. I don't know if those numbers are legitimate (people in porn lie about everything), but he's likely the most well known post-COVID male performer.
any suggestions for new young male talent coming through the ranks ? i've seen one gent who looks latin american and is slim 21/22 probably but don't recall the name. any other gents in early 20s. ? i ask cause i love to see 40yr + milfs with young guys.

Go check out Team Skeet (Mylf) and Nubiles? They love their stepx porn. I named a few in the last post:
I agree on Brazzers, to me Brazzers is just a production line, where you already know on monday what you will see on next friday. More boring and stereotype, always the same stuff. But, if a female performer got an exclusive contract with Brazzers, that woman will get probabely a much higher payment and has a good contract with constant shootings. For example A. Fawx, Angela White or Cherie DeVille. So I guess it is the same in terms of male actors who got an exclusive contract with Brazzers. How and why they pick this or that specific lady or guy for their exclusive squad, criteria for picking et cetera, Idk, have no clue, but there is surely a plan, a schedule for each talent and its career. The names here, I am not able to rank it, to value it. Some got bigger dicks than others, but in terms of performing, shining on set and in front of te camera, no clue.

Cherry Kiss is looking to start a bootcamp to train new male performers so who knows, maybe she will unleash the next Manuel or Mick or Small Hands . . .
You said it yourself, though. Male talent have still gotta have the looks, and he doesn't. So white he's blue, body full of hair, goofy haircut etc. Besides, all his scenes for Brazzers have been a snoozefest because he just lies there, having the girl fuck by herself. But welp, Brazzers' other main guy Scott Nails can't fuck for shit anymore either, the man barely moves so scenes with him are all really boring.
Victor Ray, Derek Savage, Mannie Coco seem like good ones.

The allure of Girthmaster is the same as the allure of Leana Lovings, we all want to believe that the average looking guy can score with a variety of women. I mean look at the male performers who are not much to look at physically on screen but who get requested or booked regularly: Tommy Pistol, Ken Feels, Parker Ambrose, Brad Sterling, Dick Chibbles, Tony Sting, Elias Cash. None of them are muscle bound hunks but their performances are believable and the female talent clearly enjoys working with them or they wouldn't be getting called back. You may not like the way he looks but clearly plenty of women do including Yhivi who all but sang his praises. Angela White & Luna Star don't work with just anyone, he got the privilege of a scene with them. That's a hell of an endorsement, when people like that along with Jane Wilde, Anissa Kate, Kira Noir, Elly Clutch are signing off on you; you're clearly doing something right. Madison Ivy did her return scene with him and alot of veterans are eagerly hitting him up. You can't argue with the results, you and I may not be super Brazzers fans but female talent love working with them hence why some of have signed contracts with them.
Edited by - Whyspers2Scorpio on 5/16/2026 11:23:40 AM
^I don't think it's a matter of them wanting to or enjoying working with him. He's a big name so Brazzers offered him a contract, which means he'll automatically work with these girls. And they'll praise him because he's famous and I assume is a good guy, so it's harmless to praise him even though he's a bad performer at this point in his career. And ugh, not sure about all the dudes you mentioned but Tommy Pistol, Ken Feels and Parker Ambrose are absolutely muscular guys that at the very least do the bare minimum to look good, unlike Girth.

Tommy Pistol is far from muscular, in fact most of the younger male performers look very boyish rather than mannish and that is the selling point. They have to pull off the stepson look which goes against the grain of being muscular and built. Sam Shock has an incredible body, perfectly muscular and such - you know how many scenes he's had in 8 years? 652, by your argument - he should be at least at near a thousand by now. But he is nowhere near that,
I suspect that the fantasy of doing porn is significantly different from the reality of actually doing it. Getting an erection is something that we can all do with a small amount of stimuli but how many of us could do it in front of a bunch of other guys and then retain that erection during what has to be a long shoot means that most hopeful guys flunk the entrance exam. Then there is harsh reality that if there are few available gigs in the industry than making a decent living shooting porn becomes even harder for male talent who get paid less than their female counterpart.
