Early morning sunrise in the desert, with AEE going through its last gasps and the AVN coronations set to begin in a few hours.
For the past few days I can't shake the feeling that I'm on the set of an up-date of Fellini's "Satyricon"--the end of a way of life.

A Blast from my porn past. Good to see Nina Hartley, again. I first met her when I was in college in SF. She still has a rock hard ass!
Something New. The Reality Kings gang are as much fun in person as their website parties appear to be. They are a breath of fresh air!
More New. The Abby Winters folks...the L Word comes to porn.
Borrowed Star. Tawny Roberts getting more attention at the Mary Carey Booth than the AVN Cross-Over Star nominee. In spite of two years away from the biz, bad make-up, and trashy wardrobe, Tawny still has Star Appeal--lots of autographs to happy faces. I got a boner just watching her hold a pen.
Other thoughts.
Kayden Kross is a knockout. Will the industry & fans (not too many recognize her) know how to appreciate what she has to offer? Will she get to do porn her way, or will she be the next girl run through the porn mulch-maker? Watching her move gives me another woody.
Teagan. The Classic Porn Sweetheart. Cute, fun, loves the fans. Yes, she needs to eat more, but I'll love her till the day I die. Much luck as an Independent, babe!
Casey Parker. The next Porn Sweetheart. If you don't fall in love with Casey's energy and smile, you need to be checked for a heartbeat.
Chasey Lain. One of my first porn crushes. No longer "The Original Wicked Women" or "New Wave Hookers" knockout, but definitely NOT dead.
No Jenna, No (major) Playboy presence, and token Vivid. This is the industry's first Year Without Jenna, and her absence renders the entire Event a little smaller. Less important. Desperate. The Big Money seem to know the biz is no longer about dvds and studio productions. So they're no longer investing in this Event...a symbol of the Old Business Model.
Party the Night Away. Best star sighting party so far: The Wicked Party. Listening to Jessica Drake talk reminds me that so many porn girls are from the South. Us Yankees have a hard time cutting through the southern drawl, but love the southern charm.
EuroHottie Alert. Woodman Entertainment girl Nessa Devil makes me want to sin. Hot hot hot.
Last thought: I hope at least some of my favs win AVNs tonight. I don't know if I'll be back next year.
