In this thead I made a statement about Laseredge and I'm happy to announce that today I got my last order just fine(Real Adventures 27,28,29). Their new shipping service works great and they can count on a lot of business from me now.

Hi Ramsey,

lucky you. I am still waiting for the arrival of 4 DVDs which were shipped on 17 April 2003. They have not shown up here in Germany yet. Hopefully they will arrive soon.

Isn't it the case that there's a problem with mail order shipments of porn in Germany, in general, not just with Laser's Edge?

Just for the record, the latest order I have had from them arrived today, the 9th of May, having shipped on the 29th of April.
That's to the UK.

Gabriel Nine:

I have received many porn DVDs from other companies out of the US without problems and much faster. In fact, I have just received one letter from Laseredge which was shipped at a later date because the DVD was not available. So I hope I will still receive the first letter with 3 Evial Angel Jules Jordan DVDs.

This is not to blame Laseredge at all as they have a good selection at fair prices and apparently a very good customer service. Also their flat shipping rate is unbeatable from the US but the delivery time is very long indeed.

I've had my two outstanding discs which were reshipped now arrive which means that everything is now 100% between Lasersedge and myself. I was beginning to become slightly concerned with the last disc which was shipped on 25/04 but fortunately it arrived today.

SNP.

Thanks for clearing that up. It's just that I do recall reading comments from other German posters to the effect that customs were seizing material. Do German customs notify you, as UK customs do, if this is the case?

My last order from them was shipped on April 18th and still hasn't arrived. Normally most of my orders from them take about a week to 10 days, but this one seems to be taking a bit longer. At the moment I'm not worried, but if it hasn't arrived in another week...

Actually, it seems that deliveries from the U.S. and Canada (both normal and porn) for me and a good few of my friends to Ireland seem to be way overdue. And it seems our Post Office is not being very helpful...

I've ordered lately a lot with Adult DV-Depot and everything worked fine. I've ordered on monday and the package arrived wednesday, 5 orders so far and it never took them more than 4 days to deliver from Canada to Germany, no problems with customs, only once I had to pay a 3,56 Euro fee. And the best is: no shipping!

Well, Germany sucks.

Actually, I spoke too soon. My last post in this thread was written Sunday night/Monday morning and lo and behold, my package arrived at half eight that morning...

...So, goes to show...

I had an order arrive from Laser's Edge a couple of days ago, arrived in about 14 days. I'm happy with the shipping time, especially considering the low cost.

Well, to add to my previous posts. My order of 4 DVDs was shipped in two separate pieces of 1 and 3 DVDs on 21 APR. The single DVD arrived 2 weeks ago but I am still waiting for the 3 other DVDs. I am in contact with Marc and hopefully this will be resolved. I have checked with customs and the post office and they are not aware of the 3 DVDs. So it must be lost somewhere.

Will keep you posted.

I've noticed that most of you have had problems ever since Lasersedge began to ship orders as they come in-stock (single units).

Perhaps they should send orders complete (a box is much harder to lose in the postal system than a small jiffy packet).

I've heard Lasersedge will no-longer wait for an order to be complete before shipping. Is this true ?

Hardz, the customer can choose whether to have an order shipped "partial" (as each item is available) or "complete" (when the whole order is available).

They ship the order in parts with only one shipping charge, which is good, but it's the newer, different mail service which seems to be a lot slower in my experience. I also think that packages of any size can go "missing"... though I tend to feel that nothing really gets lost - I mean, where does it go? into the ether?

A recent email from Lasers quoted that partial shipment is the new policy so the 'ship complete' option is no longer in use.

I keep my mailman very busy but from experience, I've never had lost boxes, only lost single items (jiffy packets).

Good question...where do 'lost' packages end up ?

Well, that is odd because the 'ship complete' option was still available last time I ordered. Maybe it's different between the $1.99 special and the other shipping options.

Clarification from Laser's Edge would be good....are you reading, Marc?

Hardz, I didn't want to really say it because I have no evidence to make such a claim, so let's just say I was "wondering" if "lost" items are really stolen items. I've had the same 3-disc package go missing twice, so I am sorry to say it's not just the single item package that could be tempting to a thief. For example (and this is a purely hypothetical example), a high-value Global Priority packet from Five Star, discs without boxes, say, could be a tempting prize for a light-fingered postal worker when they spot the customs valuation on a fairly small package. That's not intended as an ill reflection on Five Star's oft-criticised policy, obviously any packet could be stolen like this.

But that's absolutely pure speculation on my part, and shouldn't be taken as anything more.

Back to the topic (and I am supposed to keep these sort of things in order) - just for a point of info for UK readers here, I received my latest orders this week. Two items shipped the 8th of May, got one yesterday, one today. Customs stamp - 22nd May.

However, the other item I got today, which I feared was lost, was shipped 2nd May, Customs stamped on the 14th of May, which means it's taken a ridiculous 10 days in the UK postal system to get to me. Which goes to show that shipping delays aren't always down to the vendor.

2nd May ?

That's quite a delay. I guess there's hope for some of us yet.

I placed an order with lasersedge in the middle of april

1 dvd of the 3 arrived, 1 cancelled cos it took too long to ship, and the other was apparently posted over a month ago, but hasn't arrived. i've mailed them a few times, but they have made no mention of a refund, or a replacement. is that normal?

tpr007:

Apparently it is normal. I have the same situation as I am waiting for one parcel with 3 DVDs since 21 APR already. Actually the confirmation email that they were shipped is dated some days earlier even. A single DVD which was shipped some days later due to the fact that it was out of stock has arrived some three weeks later. Since then I am checking back with Marc how I can now receive the missing shipment. I have checked with my neighbors, the post office and customs here in Frankfurt but apparently it was lost somewhere in the mail. As most people here say that Lasersedge customer service is great I still hope that somehow Marc will find a solution. I would prefer a replacement but at least a refund if this would not work.

Keep us posted on your problems.
Good luck.

I've ordered a lot more DVD's from Laseredge after I wrote this thread and still no problem what so ever. The delivery time is about around 14 days. Laseredge is now my favorite company to order from because of the cheap prices, cheap shipping and great customer service from Marc.

For information, my most recent order from LE just arrived this morning (3rd June), having been shipped from LE on 23rd May, so that's 11 days - which is the quickest I've had so far.

I get the distinct feeling that shipping times from the US to Europe are MUCH more affected by the Europe end. I would be willing to bet that most packages leave the States within a day or two, then lounge around in some central distribution centre somewhere in Europe.

It would be interesting if one of our packages could have some kind of electronic tag put on it, as a test, so we could track its position all the way and see where the time is spent!

Anyway, would love to talk, but I've got a new batch of discs to watch

There are certainly a variety of factors 'our' end that can daily the delivery of packages from the states. I had an item shipped from Lasers Edge on the 5th of April which didn't arrive until yesterday . . . almost exactly a month later. However, it had been stamped by UK customs (Mount Pleasant) on the 15th of April which means it took considerably longer to get to me from within the country than it did to make it across the Atlantic. The package hadn't actually been opened by customs so I don't know whether they had any role to play in the delay or if it's just the inefficiency of the Royal Mail.
