I have just received my first order from Lasersedge and I was surprised to find that the DVD came in its original (and shrinkwrapped) case, rather than the usual (in my limited experience) DVD and cover without the case - is this normal practice for Lasersedge?

TIA

Laser Edge's is one of those few stores that ships shrinkwrapped DVD to their overseas customers.

Which means if you changed your mind (bad review on movie, rented the movie or simply want your money back etc.), you can return it to Laser Edge's for a refund.

It also means that customs can tell easily that a DVD is in the bag. So if they feel particularly bored or horny that day they just might confiscate it and spend their lunch break wanking happily at your expense.

This is the reason why i will never again order from the as long as they do not change this. I ordered three times and two times the shipment got confiscated. Too much of a hassle and there are better alternatives available.

Shipping in shrink wrapped cases works well for countries that allows for porn buying. Customs in these countries are interested in customs duties and not the porn movies. I have purchased many times in big bulky packages and have never had a single package confisticated. Of course, in countries where porn or porn buying is illegal, this is not too good for them.

I think, for such customers, they should request stores who shipped shrink wrapped DVDs to remove the cases for them. I am sure the stores would be delighted to oblige. In any case, there are many other stores who do not shipped shrink wrapped DVDs internationally, I wish they would shipped shrink wrapped.

mission,

I agree but even the risk of paying customs duties is nothing I would be willing to accept.

Again, there are many alternatives and I so I guess anybody can find the ideal store for the specific situation.

It's simply fixed - I contacted Marc and asked that they mail all future DVDs (both adult and mainstream) to me without the cases unless it's something like a boxed set or other DVD with unusual packaging.

All you have to do is ask , and they can put a note on your account. easy peasy.

Thanks everyone, for the replies - it didn't cause a problem on this occasion as I only ordered one title because it was my first time ordering from them, so, thankfully, unmolested by Customs.

I did notice that they include some personal info. on the invoice which they enclose (I did see mention of this previously on ADT) - If/when I order again, I think I will ask them not to include an invoice.

i love lasersedge because they ship the DVD's factory sealed unlike other stores does not, even if you request for it, and the 1.99 shipping works perfectly so far so good.

i have no idea if porn materials is restricted in my country. all i know is the customs in my city, doesnt want to waste time opening small package.

if you dont want the case to be mailed, just e-mail their customer service to remove them for you.

Just a little bump for this topic - I just recieved the first batch of discs from my latest Laser's Edge order.

They were shipped without cases (but with all artwork, inserts, etc) as per my request and arrived nicely and safely packed. Took just under 2 weeks (aka 9 business days).

Just a FYI for all considering Laser's Edge and their shipping.

cheers,

If custom wants to confiscate, they should do so with the 'shit'dvd that is advertised in Europe,a dutch sites sells these

In fact anyone who have seen one of these dvd is probably put off sex forever and buying theseshould get a custom raid into their homes

Yes customs should keep this crap from the UK

Disgusting

sonyse2t5, your post has nothing at all to do with Laser's Edge or the thread we have here. It's also pretty irrelevent to the forum as a whole and should probably be in The Porn Pool.

Try to keep your posts relevent.
