Marc from Laseredge told us in this this thread that Laseredge will improve their shipping. I admit that I don't like to buy movies from a store that cannot be trusted when it comes to shipping movies. My history with Laseredge so far is 2 movies received 1 not. Marc gave me the credit for it so I could order it again but what good is that if the order goes missing again. Right now I have a lot of orders from Laseredge shipped to me and I'm counting on receiving them all. I won't buy anymore movies from them if even one movie goes missing from this list:

- I Love it Rough!: Shipped on 4/14/2003
- Phat Azz White Girls: Shipped on 4/15/2003
- There's Something about Jack 22: Shipped on 4/15/2003
- Real Adventures 27,28,29: Shipped on 4/18/2003
- There's Something about Jack 16: Shipped on 4/23/2003

I'm in the UK and I've had a couple of shipments from LE recently. Seems that I'm getting around 12 days on average to reach me, which is way slower than the "record" mentioned in a recent thread.

As I've said in other threads, if you're finding shipments going missing then I'd use a tracked service instead of the cheap-but-risky ordinary airmail. I still can't see what LE can actually do to "improve" shipping, regarding lost packages - it's out of their hands once shipped.

I'm a big Dreamgirls fan, not just Real Adventures. I'm still waiting for the first 9 volumes on DVD of that serie.

I been buying a DVD fom Lasersedge every week, since October. I had about 4 DVD's go missing earlier in the year, which I got reimbursed for, and some packages took four weeks to arrive.

but since the beginning of this month I haven't had any problems...

P.S. if you order 3+ DVD's in a single shipment, there is more of chance of being opened by customs and having import tax put on it, hence bringing a longer delay.

That 'record' I mentioned in that other thread was a strictly one off.

I never expect my packages that quick. I always give them 12 days and they always turn up between 10-12 days.

Out of just under 30 orders I've had 100% success rate and never had to complain. I would imagine that customs/post workers are intercepting the packages en route to Holland as the UK has been perfect with me.

I only order 2 dvds per order.

I have used DHL express shipping once which was also perfect when i ordered 5 dvs in one hit. No hidden charges.

I hope your not insinuating that LE can't be trusted to ship DVD's. I really believe they are not the problem.

Guys, I'm also in the UK and in the last six weeks I have lost one package from DVD Empire, one from Play and (I'm begining to think) one from Lasers Edge. Today I wrote a letter of complaint to the Royal Mail (and will post the response as soon as I get it). I really think missing packages are more to do with postal workers than any particular retailer.

Guys and Gals

Thought I would chime in since this thread was started about us.

We DO ship all packages we send confirmations on. We have been in the mail order/online business for over 15 years (since the days of Laserdiscs!). It is not in our interest to NOT ship packages (as insinuated in a previous post). I can confirm what is mentioned in this post. We have had what we suspect is theft recently. To improve this we have switched mail handlers. As most of you know, most of us (retailers) use Mail Consolidaters, this allows us to offer cheaper shipping and easier than postaging everything then having to lug it to the post office. It is picked up at our facility and then transported to a sorting facility then stuck right in the postal service.

Previously we were using DHL WORLDMAIL's sorting facility in Frankfurt Germany. We have switched, effective April 8th, to a US Company with a sorting facility in New Jersey (east coast of the US). We used them previously (a few years ago) with 100% success rate. The only downside is they are a tad bit slower than Worldmail (about 2-3 days longer). This in turn makes delivery time right around 10-12 days for most locations sometimes 15 Days. This is how we IMPROVED our mail service.

Please realize that none of the retailers here on this Great Site purposefully lose your packages, once they leave our facilities they are out of our hands.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at marc@lasersedge.com

Thanks
Marc Daege

Give it a rest Ramsey!

I doubt you'd be happy even if Marc himself came over the pond and dropped it through your letterbox mate.

Lost packages are a fact of life and due to the postal system.
You should be glad that retailers like Lasersedge respond as well as they do.

If you don't want to lose packages you should pay the extra and use the tracking method.

Let's be fair, Hardz. If Ramsey has a genuine complaint, which can only presume he does, then he's entitled to some good service, which is what Laser's Edge are offering. In turn, Marc has responded in the manner I would expect. I do agree that using a shipping method with tracking is the option if you need reassurance. They're not THAT expensive!

I'm not sure if Ramsey has kept in touch privately with Marc in the way he might have done, but if he feels hard done by, he's got the right to make his feelings known, just as Marc has the right to respond.

Lost packages may be a fact of life, but that doesn't mean you should sit back and accept the loss. Good vendors like Laser's Edge will assist their customers whenever possible. But they don't know if you have a a problem unless you get in touch with them, which is what I always recommend as the first step. Then complain here if you DO have an issue. This forum is open for anyone who's been let down to vent their spleen.

I admit I kind of freaked out not having received "I Love it Rough!" yet since it was shipped on 4/14/2003, I got a flashback about another DVD which I never received but Marc wrote some orders take 15 days so I assume I will have it in a few days. I think Marc is doing a great job explaining things here and I also mentioned this in this thread.

Look on the bright side, you could be in my situation. I'm still waiting on a delivery from France that was supposedly shipped on 3/28.

Bill,

Depending on the shipping method, mail packages (especially large ones) can take up to six weeks, sometimes more, to cross the Atlantic so I wouldn't be overly worried until mid-May or so...

Also I did a trade recently in the International Trading Forum with a guy from France and he mentioned there were currently some problems within the French Post Office system...

I placed an order for 3 dvd's with lasersedge a few weeks ago. The first disc was posted on the 16th April, and the 2nd on the 24th april.

the first disc still has not arrived and the 12th day of waiting will be tomorrow!

When i originally ordered I hoped they would all be sent at once as nothing on the sites indicates Out Of Stock (a big flaw IMO). however, it took 4 days to post the first disc and 10 days to post the second. the third is still not been sent, and it's not exactly an old or rare film.

The previous orders I hade made with LE arrived within a week, and I always cancelled orders that were out of stock, more because I hate it when a site doesn't mention when a dvd is OOS or not.

I don't think I will use them again. There's not much of an excuse for a modern, and or, established site to not display stock details.

Marc wrote that some orders now take 15 days to arrive so you still have a couple of days and so do I because my movie was shipped on 4/14/2003.

Time for another update. Today I received 'There's Something about Jack 16' which was shipped to me on 4/23/2003. So the only order I still have to receive is 'Real Adventures 27,28,29' shipped on 4/21/2003 (not on 4/18/2003 like I wrote before).
