At the time of the outbreak I got all my news of it from AVN (the mainstream press -- if they did any reporting at all -- mostly quoted AVN) Before they let the matter drop (can't blame them, they're an industry trade publication) they reported that Brazilian authorities were trying to track down the woman who infected Darren James (authorties were speculating that she had a forged health certificate). Does anyone know if they did find her? And, if so, what the outcome was? Also, the AVN reported that there was a movement to "organize" (I won't say "unionize" -- that's a dirty word these days) male and female talent. Obviously, that didn't happen. But I wonder if it's still talked about. Would love it if some of the talent who post here would put their 2 cents in. ALSO (lastly!) are there other sites I could go for adult industry news (Mmmm, I had one bookmarked but it was nothing more than gloried press releases so I trashed it.)? Sorry this was so long... I didn't search the forum because I didn't think there'd be anything on it from that long ago. So I sheepishly typed in the likely searchwords "HIV" and "Darren James" I wish I hadn't. Um, what I found wasn't useful and some of it was downright hateful. I'm not into that. I felt bad for James. If what I read about him is true (I only know what I read on AVN) he was meticulous about his testing and he was good to his female talent. I'd like to think something came from all that shit. Maybe because they somehow deep inside feel bad about their porn consume or porn involvement. Despite some irresponsible quarentain breakers all in all the industry managed the problem really well.
