Time for some friendly ranting ... I can't help but roll my eyes when I see a big splashy ad for a video like "Lesbian Cheerleader Squad" on the home page of this site. I mean, if they actually want someone to buy it, how about a review of the movie? And it would need to be an objective review, which might mean that the whole "arrangement" between seller and this site wouldn't work so well, eh? Ah well. "Lesbian Cheerleader Squad" sure sounds good: All new, 18-year-old girls, fresh from the beaches of Florida, now armed with strap-ons? Yep ... the day I see a lesbo vid with a fresh, 18-year-old cast, that'll be the day I actually start believing that there is hope for the porn industry ... By the way, if anybody knows of any such lesbo vids packed with barely legal babes, I'm all ears. Until then, I won't be making any risky no-review-available movie purchases. Out!
Mo - Time for a friendly response. The spot on the ADT home page for Lesbian Cheerleader Squad was done as a favor for ADT chat room regular and movie producer Jim Gunn. Jim has spent many hours in the ADT chat room conversing with people about what they would like to see from DVDs. Jim is no powerhouse studio like a VCA or Vivid. He's here at ADT asking the pornsumer what they want to see and doing his best to provide it. Jim has provided us with review copies of two of his DVDs (one hasn't been released yet.) Those copies are in Saki's hands. I'm sure that we will have a great, objective review of each sometime soon. As for the "arrangement" you refer to, ADT has a rule: We do not accept advertising or promotional fees from any adult studios present on ADT. I personally resent the implication you are making. You are entitled to your voice your opinions. My father told me as a teenager: opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and most of them stink.
Mohamo: I'm always happy to hear from a lesbian porn fan so I will try to answer your somewhat cynical post in a constructive manner. Maybe you aren't familiar with my body of work, that is over 100 movies and a lot of those movies featuring newcummers, especially teenage lesbian newcummers. You might have heard of my long-running, shot on the East Coast, Strap-On Sally series? Anyway, I do understand that you may have been burned in the past by other porn promotions, but I can assure you that if I made a claim on the box or press release it is on the level. I certainly have not paid ADT anything for my placement on the site, it was just a nice little gesture on their part since I have chatted with them lately. This movie was shot on location outdoors in Florida and has a cast of eight newish young models, many of whom made their debuts on camera, and had sex with another woman for the first time in any sense, during this production. Really, I swear! I snatched these chicks out of various strip-clubs in South Florida myself. If you are not familiar with my other movies, you probably have literally not seen any of these models elsewhere. The models range in age from 18 years to 20 years of age, with about half of them being just months over their eighteenth birthday, and most of the rest of them being nineteen. The DVD has detailed bios about all the girls with moving images of each, as well as some extras- including a trailer for other new movie(s); a photo gallery; my web url; and chapter stops. It's seven scenes by the way. As far as the review, I did send Saki, ADT's reviewer advance copies, but the poor guy is a newlywed, so I guess he hasn't gotten around to actually reviewing it, although his wife saw a snippet and told me in chat that she thought it was neat ;-) In any case, the movie actually has been positively reviewed several places online elsewhere (e-mail me if you want citations) and I am sure ADT will get their own blow-by-blow review online soon. As far as your insinuation that there is some nefarious "arrangement" between me and ADT it's just not true. I'm online all the time because I have a lot of web sites in devlopment and I've been to ADT lately so they just gave me a nice little plug for "Lesbian Cheerleader Squad#1", my first DVD release for my new label Jim Gunn Productons. For what it is worth, I understand that they log i.p.'s so that one cannot 'stuff the ballot box' so to speak on the Top Ten Searches list. Just to let everyone know that I'm alive, and that I am indeed working on the reviews of Jim Gunn's first two DVDs...I've already finished watching both of them and just need to translate them into the page or two of verbage that my reviews are known for. I was hoping to get them out before the holiday, but unfortunately the weekend caught up with me and I had to catch a plane out of town for Memorial Day. As far objective reviews, I think most people would agree that I'm pretty honest with my reviews. Not only do I try to be as specific as possible (i.e. "I liked/hated THESE SPECIFIC THINGS" rather than "I liked/hated the movie. Period."), but I think I'm pretty consistent from one review to the next. I have studios I like and studios I don't, favorite stars and favorite directors. And whether Jim's DVDs get favorable reviews from me or not, you'll know exactly why I rated them the way I did. I'll do my very best to get those reviews out post haste, especially since there's interest. And to dispel any concerns, I'm not paid by anyone to write reviews...I've got a full-time job and a new fiancee that are my main concerns...reviewing is just an interesting diversion Saki

mohamo- I was putting a piece of news on our homepage, news that many people on our site would be interested in. Is it an ad when a newspaper announces that Kubrick has a new film out? I'm not comparing Jim to Kubrick - I'm comparing the announcement of a film about an industry known director to the announcement of a film about an industry known director. As far as 'objective' reviews - that's why we open our review database to the public. We welcome reviews from all consumers - and all the reviews are written by consumers. Stores advertise on our site simply because there is an audience of adult DVD fans. We don't have to write false reviews to get advertising. When you accuse us of trying to deceive the community with biased reviews your rant is not at all friendly - so don't portray it as such.
Just wanted to throw this in, I got this DVD from adultdvdempire.com. This Movie puts all other lesbian videos to shame, at least ones that I have seen. GET THIS, You will not be dissapointed. This is one of the few that lives up to its name. Great scenes. If you read this Mr. Gunn, please continue this series, and how about some scenes where the girls kiss some more. That's something that a lot of lesbian vids don't do, but nothing is more erotic than watching two girls visibly kiss with tongue. Lesbian Cheerleader Squad contains some good shots of this, but i wish there was more close up. Great Work man !
Wow! A guy wants to generate a little talk in these forums -- they're just too dead for me -- and look at the response! Yes, that was a fairly cynical post. My apologies if anyone was offended. However, you must realize how such a splashy ad looks to the normal Web surfer. I made the assumption -- and wrongly so, apparently -- that a company would pay for that splash. So I guess Fivestar DVD did not pay a dime to have that link that takes you directly to the "buy me" spot for "Lesbian Cheerleader Sqaud" on their home page? That's pretty amazing. However, Steph, comparing that banner to a newspaper announcing a new Kubrick movie just isn't accurate. No newspaper -- print or online -- puts a link to the "buy me" page from a news article. That clearly would violate the separation between editorial and advertising that all newspapers (OK, "most," ahem, let's not talk about the LA Times) newspapers have viewed as crucial since the advent of the printing press. Also, Steph, let's get off the "false review" and "accusing us of trying to deceive the public" thing; I never said this site did that. I said it would be a possibility if a company paid a site for both advertising AND a review: Don't put words in my mouth, please, and then start scolding me. Mr. Gunn, no offense was intended. Yes, I am a doubting Thomas kind of consumer. Yes, I've seen some pretty bad product. Yours sounds great. More power to ya. And, yes, you guys at ADT need to get the reviews up ASAP rather than putting those splashy banners up with no critical analysis, perhaps the most valued aspect of this site! Anyway, you've almost got me convinced to buy it! Take care! No worries! Not trying to make enemies here! I think, however, that some of you may be so deeply engrossed that you may forget how things might appear to the casual users -- who are many! Again, just an opinion. Rip it if you must!

normally links on ADT go to price search engine results, but when only one participating store has the title posted then it makes more sense to link it to that store's product page. the purpose of that is not necessarily to sell the item, but rather to get the product info: large cover image, synopsis, etc. please read our [url=465109]FAQ</A which clearly states how we pay our expenses. The only thing in ADT that's 'paid for' are the banners, which are obviously paid for. The FAQ will also tell you that ADT is run by two people. We can only do so much in a given time period. Most of the reviews on ADT are written by volunteers who want to help other consumers. We can't expect volunteers to have a review done the minute a movie is released. And we're not going to ignore the release of a movie because we don't have a review for it. there is a big difference between constructive criticism and your post - i am sorry that you do not see the difference.

I must say, however, that I find it amusing that you took this original post in much better spirit than certain easily-offended site masters lurking about. Steph, there may be a fine line between constructive criticism and "my post" (I call that "constructive cynicism," catchy eh?), but I generally fall into the latter category unless I sit back and edit my ponderings while perusing Miss Manners' latest column. And, even then, some people interpret direct statements as vicious commentary. As for "We're not going to ignore the release of a movie because we don't have a review for it." ... What? You mean every new movie released by every porn studio gets the "Jim Gunn" treatment on the home page of adultdvdtalk? Dang, I'll bet Jim stopped feeling special right about now ... Seriously, I don't think what ADT did here is a big deal at all. I don't think it's questionable in any way. They're just informing us of a new release. Sure they may not have the resources to go and inform us of every new release and you can argue that's unfair but nothing is fair in life. To demand this absolutely fair treatment would result in ADT not informing us of any new releases whatsoever because they simply don't have the resources to do so and even if they did, it would just totally bloat the web site. It's just unrealistic. Personally I appreciated that particular post as I'm a fan of lesbian flicks and I wouldn't have found out about this one otherwise.
