Spirit, let's not get into an argument about the validity of each installment of the Star Wars legacy. While, of course, some films rise above other, each holds a key component to the overall enjoyment of the mythology.
Sure, had I been the director or writer, would I have made some changes? Of course. Let's be kids tho and revel in the enjoyment of the miraculous nature of the story not that it didn't live up to the acting chops of say Dark Knight.
Know the audience and go into it with that sense of wonder and you can still enjoy it.

It killed me to have it happen to so many of our favorites (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, 13 Ghosts, House Of Wax, the Omen, etc.) but this one really hurts.
