Just to clarify: I WAS NOT DISSAPOINTED WITH LEXI BELLE! I sincerely wish her well in her comeback, and I hope we see many more scenes from her. That said, the scene's editing was extremely choppy. For example, at the ~28-minute mark, when Lexi gets on top to do her cowgirl missionary position, there is a quick cut from her being perpendicular to being horizontal. We don't see her straddling the guy, bouncing up and down on him, doing her trademark hip swivel, etc. It's as if the director said, "Ok penetration complete; turn to the side." Very disappointed Vixen didn't shoot that type of action, or at the very least didn't include it in the final cut. Another example of poor direction: the doggy-style action is filmed in an uninspired way. We basically get the L-shape action in the frame: Lexi on her knees and the guy upright, both perpendicular to the camera. Three-quarters of the scene was empty space, totally wasted, and it makes for very a boring viewing session. Where is the Over-The-Shoulder POV shot, or a shot of Lexi facing the camera, or at the very least a 45-degree angle that shows off Lexi's curves? I could add other things, like a rough transition between the beach scene and the mattress scene, poor management of Lexi's hair/makeup, poor use of shading and fill lighting when the talent was backlit by the sun... but it all speaks to a universal problem: a lack of creative film techniques that is not unique to Lexi's scenes (although I truly hate that her comeback was a victim of lazy film-making.) The videography, staging, and direction of Vixen's films quality has gone downhill in recent months. I totally understand that videographers and directors come and go, but if Vixen wants to maintain its status as a premier art-oriented adult film company, it must find directors/videographers who can capture the beauty of the moment, not just follow a standard porno film formula.
