I agree with Soul Sphere about Eva Angelina but I wouldn't want to see her exclusive to a company that makes only features and would handcuff her sexually. But if I owned a gonzo company and were looking for stars to sign, Eva would be my first. However, I disagree with vodka tonic who believes that Mercedez would be a perfect fit for Wicked.

I know I've spouted a few hateful thoughts here and there about her on this board but it really comes down to this: Mercedez, appearance-wise, is exactly my type -- a busty, raven-tressed, copper-toned latina with a gorgeous face and absolutely fantastic body. I couldn't turn away from that woman while she is on screen if I tried. And that's what makes it so frustrating for me to watch her because as a porn star, she lacks umph and for me, if you choose PORN STAR as your job, then make a genuine go of it, for Christ's sake. Show some enthusiasm. Enjoy the sex. Be there for more than just exposure, the check and to enhance your dance career. But if every time you do a scene and you give less than 100%, you sleepwalk or clock-watch through it and you manage to actually TURN ME OFF (on a girl who is EXACTLY the type of girl I want to see, no less) during the course of it, I feel like you're stealing my money. And I don't play that. I absolutely loathe that. And I detest all girls who do this to me.

So in that regard, the fact that Mercedez and Vivid have parted ways makes me immeasurably happy. Maybe I'm just a miserable bastard for wishing anything bad on another human being but honestly, I've not seen a bigger waste of space on the porno landscape than Mercedez in quite some time. What she does from here on and out is anybody's guess (likely a paysite where she can sell her supposedly worn-panties and corny t-shirts, I'd guess) but the sooner she disappears from the business she obviously has no love for and never put her heart into, the better. Good riddance.

The pursuing other opportunities was a phrase Derek Hay/Ben English used to describe Lexi Marie's immediate future. Taylor Rain pointed to the use of that particular phrase as being indicative of Derek's business-first mentality. She proceeded to tear into him for (what she perceived to be) his sleazy efforts to continue profiting off of Lexi when in fact the majority of the industry knew that what she really needed was help for her drug problem.

It seems pretty clear that Lexi's agent, Derek "Ben English" Hay, is doing his best to spin the situation. It's also clear that one industry observer, former talent/current contract director/future agency owner Taylor Rain, thought that Derek was part of the problem and not the solution for Lexi.

I think so, though with the way they've been using from the day they signed her it's hard to tell whether she's there or not.

Even for the elite stars porn's a tight rope. Contract girls are not shielded from the types of exploitation that produce feelings of humiliation, degradation and shame. Thus the high turnover rate and the myriad of personality dysfunctions and self-destructive behaviors that we've been discussing. Which leads me to wonder why there is no SAG for pornstars. Anyone care to speculate as to why not?

I was wrong on two fronts, that she was still going to do this and that we've known since April. Actually, we've only known since August 31st, when she told AdultFYI about it on the set of a handjof film for Defiance. She confirmed the story in this thread in September.

With Mercedez... I think she is getting better with her scenes, but it almost seems like it was a little to late for Vivid. Although they did sign her on for a few more months before December. With Lexi... I really haven't seen her in many movies, and what movies she has done have all been pretty low profile ones.

Monique is pumping out a lot more product (even if most of them are smaller ones), and has started doing anal (AVN announced it a while ago). Lanni is pumping out a lot as well, just not any real big ones (I don't think her english is all that great. So I would guess they would try and keep her from having to learn lines as much as possible). The Twins I'm guessing are selling well, and Briana is a Vivid staple.

With Lexi... she never really made any impression in the short time she was with Vivid, and her stuff probably didn't sell. Mercedez has been there for a while. She's beautiful, but never one of their top girls. Vivid has a ton of girls undercontract, so I think they just decided to clean house. Those two seemed like the best bet to let go.

Well, I'm with you on that, though I mostly enjoy older features as opposed to the ones produced today. The problem I run into with current porn is that the girls I'm attracted to invariably do all-sex and only try out features after they've been in the biz a while.

As for the contract girl, I have no issue with it in principle. However, the potential always exists that a girl you like could sign with a company who makes product you vehemently dislike and then you're kind of screwed.

It was also reported simultaneosly on the AVN site that Vivid is going condom optional. I'm not buying the argument for that its for aesthetic reasons. Vivid is doing it for profit and to penetrate overseas markets.
