Lexington Steele

No one can deny that Sean blew IR wide open and for a period of time was the biggest stick in the game, but at this point in his career, he's more of a name than performer. Kinda like Ricky Henderson.

Lex on the other hand was the biggest thing in IR as the millenium changed and went deeper than Sean and was a mucg stronger performer. Like Goerge Jefferson, I think he wanted his piece of the pie, and he earned it. The issue came in the 12-18 month lull that he left us with jumping from camp tp camp before Merc got off the ground.

Both greats in their own rights, but both stars are fading.

Also wanted to say that it's nice to see that JEDI PORN has taken his campaign to dog Lex Steele to a new thread. Anyone that read your thread "LEXINGTON STEELE IS A SELLOUT" knows how you feel about him using white women that won't do IR in his movies. You feel that since these women won't do IR then he shouldn't be paying them to be in films produced by his company because he's black. C'mon.....let it go. The moderator finally closed that thread because it became ridiculous.....Katja Kassin, myself and others tried to break down some of the many reasons why a woman may or may not do IR, but that ultimately it's on them. Lex is in it to make money.....it's a BUSINESS. Why can't you understand that?

While both of them deserve their props for their careers and for their contributions to the industry, from a performance aspect, I'm not that thrilled with either.

I respect and appreciate them both as agents of change and progress, and I know that were it not for them, I might not see some of the things I can see now, or have the choices I have now, in porn.

I also like that both of them cultivated personal porn images and personas that were the antithesis of the stereotypes we see so much of in modern culture. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy and buy some of the culturally "themed" based IR porn, but I also like that there is room for IR porn that is opposite of the "thug/gangsta" perspective. We have mostly Michaels and Steele to thank for that.

And finally, I appreciate that over time all the actresses seem to love working with these guys. There's a lot to be said for that, and they must be doing something right.

But having said all that, Sean Michaels' on-screen performances for me were sex to have a root canal by. Very boring and lacking in heat. Not as mind-numbing as Mandingo's wooden performances, but still not exciting. When it came down to the fucking, I just didn't care for Michael's style and those weak pop shots. (Although I don't know what he could have done about that).

Steele was a little better, and maybe a little more theatrical in his screen presence, but my problem with him was that he was one of the few male stars that seemed to know that it was all about him and that log he was packing, and the girl was just an after thought. Which is the exact opposite reason why I enjoy porn. For me, the girl is always first and foremost, and the reason I'm watching. The guy is there to bring out the best in her and showcase her best attributes, (while fucking the shit out of her, smile), and not necessarally preen and be the star of the show. Even guys that are big stars. I get that you don't get to be a big star without a lot of sense of self, but sometimes Lex's personal vibe on camera is a little too strong for me and the girls just seem like anonymous things hanging from the end of his dick.

But like I said, I really do like and owe a debt of gratitude to both these guys, I just don't buy their movies. The same can be said about a lot of other porn personalities as well.
