it's not the girls in porn who i worry about.

The average person has extreme difficulty in writing a syntax/spelling free opinion on the internet. Why? It is because they have other priorities. Some of these priorities are called jobs, family, boyfriends and girlfriends. IN addition, we are not writing professionals, so it should be understandable that we will not have the attention to detail that many of these writing experts possess.
Personally, I will try harder to be more careful with my writing. But I will not make any guarantees.

This is a very emotional subject and for you to assume that this is not a roadblock in writing accurately and coherently reflects the reality that you do not understand that some people struggle communicating ideas than others. Rather than assuming it is simple communicating ideas, you should accept the fact that is not simple for many people.To use the writings on this thread as sole criteria to judge one's literacy is not only unfair, it is ridiculous. YOu admitted poor syntax and spelling is based on carelessness. Your conviction is not fully accurate but disproves the assumption that poor grammar and syntax is an inherent sign of illiteracy. Therefore, I have a serious problem with people who unfairly view those who invest a large amount of time in writing opinions but lack the focus to spot many syntax and spelling errors. English teachers, professional writers(technical writers, lawyers, columinists) and those who write large amounts of professional documents are able to spot these errors in their material much faster than mortals. Many of them can do this by proofreading their work ONLY once.
Us other mortals may never spot their errors until days after they have written their works. Even when we make the greatest effort and proofread our works more than 10 times, it would take us an excessive amount of time to achieve what you think is so simple for EVERYONE.
