In the mid-90s I didn't notice Lisa Ann until after she left the biz. I was too busy watching Evil/Elegant Angel, Dirty Debs, Anabolic, etc. I didn't watch that Cal Vista/Wicked product.

I'm still having that "Am I dreaming, Toto?" feeling regarding Lisa Ann's oh-so-welcome return to the ranks of adult performers. The scene has changed in the last decade, and Like I've said before, my taste runs to the older stuff (by older I mean stuff produced when I was in college, for fuck's sake). I think a lot of the changes in the industry have been positive, though I say this from a fan's perspective, since I am not really familiar with the inner-workings of the porn industry. I browse the message boards and some gossip bloggers, but I take those things with a healthy grain of salt. But back to our favorite subject, I think it will be really interesting to see how Lisa Ann fits back in the new landscape of porn. Can she survive in an age of midget bukkakke pissing, or donkey-kicking, or whatever stuff people seem to find arousing now. I'm not knocking those things, mind you (I do like porn, so I don't want to be a total hypocrite here). Just not my cup of tea, no offense to the midget bukkakke dudes. (I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere, someone was reading that and thinking, "hey, that sounds hot!" I can remember reading some old reviews of Lisa's movies, and some people feeling she wasn't extreme enough, but geez, I would rather see her sensul, seductive side, plus some hot sex, than see her going the gangbang route, or the extreme route that seems so popular now. I discovered her stuff only about six years ago, but yep, she had left the business and I had to content myself with finding her old movies. Her Metro stuff was a mixed bag, and her other stuff for Wicked, VCA, Evil Angel, etc. was a bit better. (It's interesting to note she was still uber hot in Flesh for Fantasy, her first movie back in 1994, when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I think she will stand out (again) for the qualities she brings to her scenes, a sort of slow-burn sensual thing that seems to me to be really missing in some new stuff. Hey mrdngm, you get props for igniting these threads, and its nice to know I'm not the only nutso still salivating over Lisa's tumbles in those old movies (I thought her first scene with Jon Dough in Mixed was super-spicy). Doll House was great, too (Jenteal, we miss you as well!). I favor two videos she did with Jim Enright: Entangled, a sort of noir mystery thriller with actual PLOT and CHARACTERIZATION! I asked Lisa Ann about working with Marc Davis again and she said that she'd love to.
bought desperate mothers and wives#4 yesterday from evasive angles and watched her scene with sean michaels it was awesome. they were both really into it. she looked fantastic and the scene was great. can't wait to see her in more scenes. to me women are so much sexier in their late twenty's or early thirties then when they 1st break into the business.

In the 1990s the "extreme" stuff, when done by the likes of Van Damage and Tom Byron (and sometimes Christoph and Stagliano and others), could be very hot and erotic. That's the "gonzo" that I liked. It doesn't have to be mechanical and unimaginative.
If Lisa wanted to do something harder, there are directors who could facilitate it in a way that is erotic, sexy and well-shot, well-lit. In other words "her sensual, seductive side" could be there.
In her heyday, I actually missed her career back then, because I watched only gonzo, "wall to wall" etc. Lots of Evil/Elegant Angel, Ed Powers, etc. But, even though I'm not the greatest fan of the Wicked/Cal Vista genre she worked in, her scenes always stand out. She's got personality, naturally beautiful and sexy. I'll buy some vid like Molina, Mixed Up Marriage, etc., because Lisa Ann is in it.
I'm a great g/g fan and I think Lisa Ann could test the harder waters that way.
