| SEARGANT SHARP Member 216 Posts 8/02 | Every once in awhile I can hear some vibration coming from the DvD player when I go to the menu section.I don't have any vibration when I play the movie.I have the other LWSG discs but don't have any problems with them.The vibration gets louder if the player has been on for awhile but if I just turn the machine on you from a cold start you can hardly even hear it make a noise but unfortunately for me if I hear something even barely audible I'm going to hear it.The player is a 2yr old JVC machine I picked up on sale at circus city for $250 so it's not a cheap machine I don't remember the make number but it's called an AV COMPU LINK. | Sir Noel Plum Senior Studmuffin 1001 Posts 2/03 | I actually studied 'acoustics engineering and vibration' at university and most of these problems, even in industry, are typically solved through 50% theory and 50% 'suck it and see' type experimentation. Attach label, play disc: if it works leave label on, if it doesn't remove label and try something else. SNP. |
| Sir Noel Plum Senior Studmuffin 1001 Posts 2/03 | The fact the player exhibits the effect more when it is warm suggests to me one of two things: Either way, take the cover off your player and try tightening (or even loosening) a few screws, wedge some foam or rubber blocks onto bits that don't get too warm or do anything else safely that may change the ability of the player to resonate either as part of a system with the disc or to 'sing' in sympathy. But, then, the Sony changer plays the disc vertically whereas the two single-disc players have horizontal mechanisms. ~ GaySatyr |
