^ While it sounds sudden, it is apparently the result of a series of underlying issues she has faced well before entering the industry. Copy-pastying some relevant passages of the message shared by GoFundMe organizer and Lola's collegue Penelope Snaps:

The truth is, the industry never deserved to get its hands on this sweet girl.

Lola is not what people assume. She doesn't do drugs. She doesn't steal. She's incredibly smart, kind, and genuine to her core. She's the kind of person who deserved protection, support, and a real chance at life. Instead, after a long history of trauma, she was pushed into an environment that only made things harder.

For too long, her mental and physical health have not been properly supported. Right now, what she needs most is a safe way out and a real opportunity to heal.

We are raising funds to help Lola:
. Cover medical expenses
. Stay in a private rehabilitation center for trauma and PTSD
. Relocate to a safe, stable environment
. Keep up with her current bills while she focuses fully on recovery

Snaps also shared someone else's tweet about Lola facing "a tremendous battle against depression". To be frank, my mind immediately went to Trinity Olsen. Theres nothing more we can do for Trinity, but Lola Valentine could be helped.

We seem to get too many of these troubled youngsters who are then exploited and get completely messed up without anyone being held to account. Does no-one in the industry have a 'duty of care'?!

^I appreciate the sentiment but who exactly in the industry should have gotten involved? We are talking about a young woman over the legal age of 18 who unless she was coerced or forced to do porn. Chose to do it and more importantly did it for nearly 2 years. At what point did she notice that she was going down a path that may not have been healthy for her but still went down that path?
