I think Afterhours Cinema is planning on a release too as part of their Carter Stevens series. Hopefully sales are doing well enough that it will still happen.
If you like 70s disco music check out our movie Britney Rears: Britney Gets Shafted. Britney and her girlfriend travel back in time with the use of a time machine (yes a time machine- BTW where I come from in the Midwest ATMs are referred to as 'Time Machines'. Strange but true.) Anyway Britney (Hillary Scott) goes back to 1974 and becomes a TV co-host of a disco dance show and there is a lot of disco dancing and crazy stuff like that plus a lot of sex. It actually is a really fun movie if you like time travel, huge heels and disco music. It won some big awards a few years ago and is one of my favorite movies that I directed.

Are you from Wisconsin like me? :) Anyway, ChetJa, if you get a chance to check out the classic porn stuff like Alice in Wonderland and The Taking of Misty Beethoven, it might be up your ally. I know it isn't always the hottest, but some of the 70s porn can be really entertaining!
^ If the OP is looking for disco-era porn or disco-themed porn, I would think he would be disappointed by Alice and Opening - not that he/she shouldn't see them though. They're great. Just not disco-ey in any sense.
I don't know, maybe it's being born in the 80s, but I kind of associate most things from the 70s with Disco... Especially porn from the era, it all just has that "I'm going to snort coke and wear bad polyester clothes" feel... My bad.
^ No, no - "your good"! Everyone should see those movies, without a doubt. I was just clarifying for anyone who wasn't familiar with them that they're in no way "discoey." Except that they're made in the 70s. But those looking for neon lights, mirror balls, groovy disco music, and big lapels will likely be disappointed (or thrilled to bits) by Misty's European mansions, prog-rock-style soundtrack, high-class trappings, and...uh...big lapels. Ok, it has big lapels.
70's porn captured the time pretty well I think :) One thing I remember from college was that the guy in charge of the cinemateque francais defended porn because it was often the only honest record of what fashion, furniture, and interior design were like when the porn was filmed. Those films, disco or not, are awesome :)

I can remember being in a Pussycat Theater many, many moons ago, and being subjected to a movie that had some kind of lengthy, choreographed disco crap going on. It was obviously made by someone who wanted to be doing something other than porno (kind of like the people making all the parody crap now). It was so gratingly awful, and not what anyone was there to see, that it began drawing actual scattered boos from the audience -- the only time I ever heard that from a raincoater audience.

Why is that cynical? It actually happened. Guys were booing the screen in a porno movie theater. I never heard that before or after, not even when the film would break. I don't know if it was "Intimate Illusions," but I note from iafd.com that that was the only porn movie that the credited director made, which would dovetail nicely with my impression that the movie I saw was made by someone who didn't want to be doing porn. Maybe the guy went on to work with Deney Terio or something.
To ClayraBeau: Yes I am from Milwaukee. On another 70s note we are prepping to shoot Not Charlie's Angels XXX and a huge scene will take place in Studio 54 in New York. Of course we will be shooting it on a sound stage in LA but it will be filled with disco music and leisure suits. Go Packers!

Cool cool, I'm still traveling between MKE and LA to do shoots when I can get booked. Just for kicks, you guys should put an "Austin Powers" look a like in the background of that scene. YEAH BABY! :)
Try "Fleshdance." Stars Shanna Evans and John Leslie, plus a bunch of hotties from the 80s. Plot revolves around a bar sponsoring a dance contest, and has a lot of scenes at the end of various "dance acts."
