I recently got the XXX DVD titled Raw Talent
This video is obviously "cut" in at least three places. One scene has Lisa Deleeuw and Jerry Butler sitting and talking in a small apartment bathroom. The scene is suddenly interrupted with a cut-away to a person leaving a shop and looking at the headline in the newspaper about Son of Sam. The video never returns to the bathroom scene.
In a least two other places "fight" scenes are cut and there are obvious continuity problems.
Based on the actual length of the video (73 minutes) as compared to the IAFD indicated length (79 minutes) and the advertised length (83 minutes) there is at least 6 minutes of the original video missing.
Does anyone know if this missing footage were cuts specific to eliminate specific actions or are they just editing errors?

I don't know for sure but based on VCA being the releasing company I suspect they were purposely cut. Possibly needlessly though. After Russ Hampshire was arrested and served jail time (1987?) they cut footage they thought might be problematic. Later they found out that they cut more than they needed to on some of the titles that they did this with. They never returned the cut footage that didn't need to be cut back into the films again though to the best of my knowledge.

Why was Russ Hampshire arrested? I don't think I ever heard the actual reason. Was it one movie specifically or for a broader reason?

The film was edited for content.
In the diner scene of the uncut version, Jerry Butler returns to the kitchen after showing the old lady the turkey and then proceeds to fuck it (the turkey)! He pulls out, cums on the sandwich she ordered and then serves it to her.
In the bathroom scene, Jerry Butler rapes Lisa DeLeeuw as he holds her head over the bidet while it sprays her on the face.
Below the Son of Sam headline of the newspaper the guy is holding, there is supposed to be another article titled "Soap Star Charged With Rape"
All of the fight scenes are cut.

I have the unedited version of this one on VHS. There is a rape scene (with Lisa De Leeuw) and a turkey fucking(!) scene that have been cut from the DVD.
