Hi all,

Just noticed that they seem to have lowered their prices on Private DVDs, new releases are now 19.95 Euros while older titles are only 15.95 Euros, and that's including worlwide shipping

Can EroDVD be any cheaper??!

Assuming they are still making a profit, it just makes you realise how much other places (e.g. Soho shops) are ripping people off...

Amen to that... at the moment I get EA titles from Lasers Edge, and given the fast delivery and cheap prices of EroDVD, I'd love to see more selection of EA there.

Still, there's plenty of other Studios to check out!

I have ordered many times from them, and all went smooth
But this year some orders were lost and I have not received an answer from them.
They may be very busy with orders but I they have been ignoring my messages.

If they got their site secure I'd buy some stuff off them coz the price's are certainly good. But until that happens I aint interested.

Clubber,

Those who are concerned with the lack of encrption have purchased from the ero site by passing the credit card details in other methods other than filling in the form. Using Fax, entering part of the credit card number and e mailing the rest. Phoning etc

Me, I am more worried about credit card information kept on servers which look secure, i.e. they use SSL encrption, but the pile of orders are kept on the server with credit card information available to any hacker who can get into the server. Using a secure SSL connection does not guard in anyway against this threat. In fact I would consider the threat of a hacker getting the credit card info from a server is more than a hacker collecting the information from the wire. On the wire it is there and gone. But when it is on the server, it could be there for years.

Oh and then those programs inadvertantly installed on your own PC that collect all your key strokes and pass them to a hacker.

@Clubber,

I care about the customer support and relation, and I think
EroDVD is the top 1 on that.

What SSL or secure for if their support is bad!

Yeah I know what your saying but you can't take a business seriously if they refuse to make transactions of personal informantion secure. It's a basic requirement of any E-retailer. The fact that Ero don't seem to care about this means I can't trust them no matter how good people claim they are here. It's not like it costs a huge amount to secure your online business and its worth paying just for piece of mind for both company and customer.

Isnt EroDVD order page in Java , it has a grey box appear before the payment details come up, isnt this safe ?, thats what my online bank use anyway, it says opening java aplet... on the bottom of the screen like EroDVD does.

Im no computer expert so this may be a load of bollocks :)

I've been getting all of my private DVDs from there for awhile now, as they are far and away the cheapest on them, and also have always given me good customer service.

I wasn't sure about how secure their site is, so I just used alternative methods to give them my credit card number. To me it's the same thing as buying something over the phone using your credit card, only with an online catalogue.

Have had no problems at all,

cheers,

scipio

As far as I can tell, EroDVD does use SSL security in its checkout system - it says so on the opening page, so why should they lie? As to the little padlock missing from the bottom of the screen - isn't that because the window is operating from within a Java applet (and thus doesn't have a status bar associated with it)?

I've been dealing with Aline and co. since I started buying DVDs and I have nothing but good things to say about them - great prices, excellent service and only too happy to help when you've a shipping problem, lost item or general inquiry. They can teach a thing or two to a good number of US and Canadian retailers I can mention! I have every confidence in EroDVD as a secure, trustworthy site, which similarly is more than I can say about some of the US and suppliers.

(Before I get any flak for anti-American or Canadian sentiment, I deal regularly with Fivestar, Lasersedge and recently Adultdvd69 and their service has also been exemplary, so there.)

No the transmission of the credit cards details is not secure. The page where you enter the credit card details is a standard web page, no Java, and uses a standard HTTP POST and not an https connection.
