As for For the Love of Pleasure, it appears to be an old Essex title. I believe that VCX currently has the rights to the old Essex titles, which means that it will probably be released as most months VCX releases ten features on DVD. You can always request it from them on their Yahoo Group. I've found them to be very responsive there to questions from customers.

As for DVD-Rs, most of your posts seem to be about classics so I'll just cover those companies. The only company that releases classic titles that I am aware of that used DVD-Rs is VCX. They used them from roughly September 2003 to April 2004. They stopped this practice and released all the titles that came out during that period on pressed discs. One store, Excalibur, apparently has the right to reproduce some titles, which they do on DVD-R, so I tend to stay away from them. A decent way to figure out if a title is going to come on DVD-R from them is to see if other stores carry it. If they don't it's probably one of their own discs. Usually these titles do get released by the company that owns the rights to them on a pressed DVD in the future. Unfortunately there are a few titles that Excalibur appears to own the rights to which I expect will be on DVD-R forever. Currently in release, these titles are Maxine, Sex Wars and Ten Little Maidens. Not currently in release are Black White and Red All Over, Deadly Love and Sex Waves. Another store that seems to have the right to reproduce some titles is Something Weird and most of their titles are on DVD-R as well.

I think I'm going to bite on the Thatcher DVD.

I do enjoy the classics, but I certainly have just as many of more of modern films. It's just that this is the first board of its kind that I've found, and I'm thrilled to be able to ask other enthusiasts if they've heard of the halk-dozen that I can't recover for my collection.

The fact that many movies from the 80's are being released on DVD is music to my eyes. I'm only occasionally disappointed to find that a DVD is poorly made. I don't buy from Excalibur anymore, no hard feeling toward them, I just prefer original pressings.

But, there are some good scenes on this one, at least 2 that really were exciting to watch. I paid $14 for it, so it wasn't a bad deal.

I'd like to get the uncut "Satisfiers of Alpha Blue," I think that has her best scenes. (Which are not included in the comp).

Suffice to say that it's a DVD of compiled 70's loops that seems woefully misadvertised. The biggest shock I guess was that there was no audio, just music dubbed over the string of loops. I hate that.
