all of the "big stuff" has taken her forever to do

If she was working DP in her personal life, I see no reason why at some point in her career she wouldn't do it in front of the cameras .We have the example of Kendra Lust and Alexis Fawx who first worked DP in 38 and 44 years. The only political movie that was exciting to watch for me was Nailin Pailin with Lisa ann. even recent scenes are being removed, by various girls (mainly those no longer active/retired) so not sure if it's to limit any royalty-like payments for older content?
RealityKings had a massive purge of We Live Together scenes, so most of the Malena Morgan/Dani Daniels scenes are gone, a lot of the Molly Cavalli content has gone, and other performers like Kortney Kane and Rachel Roxxx have been wiped too
Rachel Roxxx had over 70 scenes on Brazzers, now down to 30 - Madison's older content has been wiped too, from various sites in the network
Probably to save money. The "network" companies have massive overhead costs for their sites and stuff that doesn't "pay the bills" is gonna get cut when the money isn't coming in. With the transition to 4K downloads, the scenes available at that resolution are eating up huge amounts of storage space and require a lot of bandwidth to download, so they have to drop the older stuff to keep those resources in check. Until the Internet studios move to using AV1 or some other next-gen video codec that allows for efficient and high-quality video compression, there's no reason to expect that they will stop culling their content.
^ Unlikely IMHO. These older scenes not in 4K don't eat up so much disk space (or transmission costs) on the servers. Also, disk space is cheaper than it ever was.
They just removed millions(?) of scenes on Pornhub, so they should have plenty of free space available now. I don't think the purging of PH and the purging of other Mindgeek sites doesn't have something to with it each other. It's simply too close together to be a coincidence.
^You would be wrong, at least partially. They only have so much server space. Eventually those servers are going to get full. That means every now and then they have to clear out space, just like you do on your hard drive at home. You find some way to prioritize which scenes you want to keep, or you spend money for more storage space. Obviously they didn't want to spend money on more storage space. Now maybe they just yanked those scenes because they were old. Maybe those scenes weren't seeing many views due to how old they are, and they yanked them for lack of traffic. I honestly have no idea what method they used to establish priority. But make no mistake, that is exactly what they did. It's not the first time they've done this.
one of the biggest porn companies in the world could afford more server space, server hosting in the cloud is literally pennies per terabyte, and most cloud services offer auto-scaling to increase/decrease storage based on trend data, so it's hardly going to break the bank to add more space if needed
this is about something else, it's not to free up space, it's to remove liabilities for hosting data containing non-active performers (look at the scenes deleted, the performers and check how many are still active)
^I think it's about the bottom line dude....you're overestimating what their profit v overhead, and underestimating damage COVID had done to the economy, porn specifically. I don't think liability has much to do with anything.
They could probably afford it, but why should they? If you owned a business would you spend money to keep a product on the shelves that you were getting an inadequate ROI?

^The basic product is new scenes. There's no reason to fill up shelf space with ten year old scenes that are getting a fraction of the traffic that newer scenes are getting. Like it or not, porn has an expiration date. Porn fans may go back and revisit new scenes now and then, but for the most part people are checking out new scenes. Jules Jordan released a Riley Reid scene recently. It had never been released before. So it was technically "new." However fans knew he shot it ten years ago, and they complained about it.
So again, why should they spend ANY money on scenes that aren't making them money? Ten year old scenes of Madison or Gianna don't sell subscriptions. That's not an opinion. That's a fact.
