Hi all,

I’m curious to know if any guys out there can maintain an erection without touching themselves.

When I masturbate or have sex I can maintain an erection well, while I’m in motion, but if I let go of my penis it tends to go soft almost instantly. Is this a normal occurrence?

This does not seem to happen to porn stars.

Porn stars can get performance enhancers too.

No, my erection does not wilt immediately without stimulation. Especially if I am looking forward to more sex.

Not what I wanted to hear. LOL

I’ll just have to keep stroking then. It's just so damn annoying that all. Wastes precious time. Oh well. I was a smoker for five years, which would have an effect right.

Does any such exercise exist for the penis or healthy food that could help with erections or ejaculation or anything.

Thanks for the reply

You might have some impaired circulation. It would be helpful to know your age and whether you've always had this situation.

The amino acid L-Arginine produces nitric oxide, which is the effective compound of Viagra etc. Also, good circulation in the area and enhanced performance is reported by guys who do physical exercise, especially quad squats.

Actually, check out the links from this thread. There's some interesting stuff.

There's an interesting-looking book I can post a link to later if I remember the name of it.

Basically, improving your general health and having good circulation are the things that help.

Thanks for the information Lindi, I’m 23 and to my knowledge I don’t think I have always had this problem, but I will definitely try what you suggested. I have never really eaten healthily, and I have not been to a gym in almost 3 years, also I was a fairly heavy smoker for 5 years till I quit in February. Guess I’ll get some exercise and stop eating junk food.

Thanks again.

Ah, yes, the book is called The Hardness Factor.

I haven't read it, just the reviews, which range from thoughtful to disappointed in the amount of discipline necessary, or disappointed that they already knew that you had to exercise and eat right. However, it looks like decent basic information that you can pick and choose from. Here's a quote from one review written by Charles Runels, MD, also an author:

The book is also available here from zooba for $9.95 including shipping, which is the best deal I know of for it, though you have to join zooba. They charge $9.95 a month and that includes one book per month including shipping from a list that you make. After three months you can cancel. Fairly painless.

The author of the book has previously hyped Fen-phen, so as with any info, take it all with a grain of salt, and use your own common sense and double check anything that you think might be questionable.

Plain old walking and healthy food is a good start. The book might be good background info and good motivation, which I always think is worth getting a book for.

Mine varies inversely with how much I want it. If I'm alone, watching porn, it takes constant attention to keep one going. But if I'm in a meeting at work and get one, it's almost impossible to make it go away.

I don't need to touch myself.

I just need to read threesomebody's posts.

How about cock rings?

I bought a few silicone ones, but haven't tried them yet...

A healthy diet helps. Certainly cut down on the fried foods and such.
Cardio-vascular health. Don't need to run, regular walks is good. Anything that gives sustained increased heart rate. Swimming is excellent and low impact on your joints.
Extra weight hurts. If you are going to that pre-diabetic (type II) build, you may have increased problems with maintaining wood. Worse if you actually get type II diabetes. Same with some heart conditions. Of course at that point decreased blood flow (to your penis) due to complications may be the least of your problems.

A few years ago I tried an exercise, which stated that it would increase the size of your penis.

The website was 123penis or something; anyway one of them described how to trap blood in the penis with your hand, causing the chambers to stretch and eventually your penis would accommodate more blood, hence a bigger cock.

Guess what it didn’t work. LMFAO. There’s no harm in hoping I guess.

Anyway after I had tried it for a while, upon closer inspection, I noticed I had loads and loads of very small red dots all over my shaft, which scared the f***ing life out of me. So no way am I trying anything like that again. I don’t like the idea of trapping blood anymore. I had nightmare of going to the doctor to have my penis removed.

I think I will go to the doctor to check for diabetes, I have been told that people with diabetes are usually very pale, as am I.

Stretching by increasing blood pressure in your penis sounds like a quick way to damage it.

Cock rings also should not be left on for long.

Some things sold as sexual devices (eg. penis pumps) can cause damage.

Stick to things that can't do damage, like walking and quad squats, pc exercises, healthy food, and maybe some vitamins in normal daily doses.

I will definitely take your advice lindi, Thanks for your help.

Talking of vitamins, I do have a bottle of Multibionta that has been lying around for ages. Has anybody else tried this or some other supplement.

Some suppliments do help. A long time ago a friend of mine sold vitamin suppliments. You couldn't get them at the store, you had to get them from the private dealer network. And I noticed that it benefitted my sex life, in terms of number of erections, anyway. It wasn't a dramatic change, but it was something I became aware of.

I lost the friend and my source for the vitamins, so I have no idea what the ingredient was that helped. But obviously, some things do help.

I tend to find it easy to get an erection without necessarily touching my penis. If I see a sexually arousing scene, I immediately get an erection. Naturally, if I don't keep stimulating my penis, it will go limp after a few minutes.

As for maintaining an erection, I'm honored that lindi posted a section of my review of the Hardness factor. I've found (in talking with thousands of patients and in my research over the years) that several things work in synergy.

A good analogy is a fire. You might throw a match down on the side walk and get little reaction. You may throw down a pile of wood another day and get little reaction. You may throw down gasoline on another day. You might conclude that neither matches or gasoline are very useful at starting fires.

But if one day you threw down all three, you'd have an explosion of fire. Problem is, the recipe for a good libido and an everlasting erection's a little more nebulous than how to start a fire. I did a book called "Anytime...for as Long as You Want" to try and outline the recipe for an explosion of libido and erectile function.

Wonderful forum. Looking forward to learning from the posts here.

Peace & Health,

Charles Runels, MD
