What I find incredibly interesting about this is that some women who post here seem to think he's real "passionate" and "connects" with women. I think women tend to project their own feelings onto the objects of their desire (a man who fucks hard and fast like a machine) and see what they want to see.

I can't be alone in this opinion. Or can I?

It's true that he can be overly aggressive and treat the girls like toys. I don't like him in those types of scenes. But the man does so many scenes, from the feature stuff to the depraved, I've found plenty of "middle ground" that I enjoy. For example, he's in 4 scenes in "Fuck Dolls #6." I thought he was hot in 2 of them, and I mostly fast-forwarded through the other 2. Didn't like the tone of them. The two I liked seemed more organic, and that's where I saw the "connections" with his scene partners.

I think he's best 1-on-1 with a girl, and in a straight forward sex scene, without any circus acts. If he and the girl hit it off, it can be magic. Again, he works so much, even if I only like 20% of what he does, I still would never have time to watch even that much porn.

Oh yeah, and he's fucking gorgeous.

I fuckin love both of them (Erik more), and I know the ladies do too; thats what makes it enjoyable.

I used to hate Manuel until I read interviews from like 10+ of my fav girls, and they all listed Manuel as one of their favs.

As for aggressiveness and roughness, I don't put that in the same category. I love that stuff. Manuel could smack me around all day long--I'd love it. I'd even let him choke me out. It's the tone with which he performs the rough stuff. It's something not easily explained, but I know it when I see it. Manuel has "it," whatever it is, and most other guys don't. Again, this is a completely different type of activity than all the circus act stuff. I personally draw a definitive line between physical roughness and humiliation. He excels at both, but I prefer the physicality over the mental games.

I've worked with Manuel more than with any other guys. We even produced and directed movies together. Girls fall in love with him and he easily falls in love with them. Even if it is only for an hour. That already got him in a lot of trouble.

Perhaps that I didn't initially "get this" (and to some extent still don't) is why I don't have flocks of women beating down my door. :)

I must grudgingly admit that in at least one scene with Manuel, Buttman's Anal Divas, where he was paired with the amazing Claudia Jamsson, I saw a connection between them. It irked me that she seemed to be enjoying the rough treatment, as I wouldn't have done so in his place and damnit, part of the reason I'm watching is to live vicariously through the people on screen! (kidding here, but my sentiment is serious)

I have a feeling that girls feel the same about Mark Ashley, as he seems like "Manuel lite" to me, and is a lot more palatable in terms of my personal tastes.

Anyone who's read my recent posts is going see this as a recurring theme with me, but here it goes: I detest gagging oral, especially when the man is forcing the girl to do it. Manuel has done this in a scene or two that I've seen. This is one reason I am turned off to his performances. I'm thinking specifically about he and Taylor Rain in "Anal Perversions #1", where he gags her a bunch of times, which I didn't want to see.

I have no clue whether or not he and Taylor were into each other or not. I suspect not, as Taylor seems kind of cold most of the time and this was a very hard scene. Perhaps I'll review it again and see what my fresh eyes see this time.

One final comment, regarding my "sex toys" comment. What I meant was this: Sometimes it seems that he is having sex just for him. That the girl is secondary and is only there for his pleasure. I could be mistaken in this, but it's what I've seen. I was pretty disappointed in him with Taryn Thomas in "Bustful Of Dollars". He seemed to just be hardcore using her. Again, maybe I'm off here. I'd enjoy hearing what others have to say about the specific scenes I've mentioned and/or other scenes in which you thought Manuel excelled.

Ok, one more thought: It seems obvious that Manuel really does have "it" with some girls and that they really enjoy him. I just wanted to acknowledge that fact so it doesn't appear that I'm not listening here.

Remember that chemistry can't be guaranteed, and that a lot of directors (and female talent) aren't interested in trying to portray passion. Some discourage it. Some want to convey the idea that the girl is just a toy, there only to serve the guy, and that he doesn't have to consider her at all because he deserves to be King. You'll see that in porn scenes starring just about any guy because that's what they're expected to do a lot of the time. And Manuel's in a fair number of those types of macho-oriented scenes, because he works a lot. The difference between Manuel and a lot of other guys is that he can and will convey genuine passion, where some other male talent can't or won't.

Some directors shoot female-centric scenes, and even include them in some hard gonzo titles. Check out "Fuck Dolls #6," which I mentioned before. Watch all 4 of Manuel's scenes. You'll see he runs the gamut, and you'll see a really special scene with Tiffany Rayne which is exactly suited to your personal taste.

With Lana Cox in "I Love It Rough #2." There are parts of this I don't like; mostly the talking to the camera, but Manuel has perfect chemistry with Lana. This is an awesome example of how rough sex can be intimate and affectionate.

With Penny Flame in "Sport Fucking #4." Don't miss this. Best scene I've seen EVER.
