This is exactly what's wrong with the porn industry. Mary Carey has annointed herself as the spokesperson for your industry, yet she's a complete and utter embarassment to herself and anyone else in the profession. Every time she makes a public appearance or comment she gives the mainstream media and audiences reason to laugh at your industry and for politicos to scorn you. I'm all for a company promoting themselves and their product, but the manner in which Kick Ass promotes itself by placing Carey on a pedastal where her every word is deemed as being a reflection on our entire industry, it's going way too far. Here's the problem. And please note I have never been in the business of criticizing or "insulting" talent, because like most other fans I just love porn, but since Carey holds herself in such high regard and makes a public spectacle of herself, she has earned this type of commentary...... Mary Carey is not representative of the porn industry, if anything she represnts the LOW end of the industry. - She is not attractive, would never make anyone's A list of talent... she is not even B talent, she is a C girl. If you want someone to represent this industry..... there are HUNDREDS of girls that would be far more representative than Mary. This is just a BRILLIANT ploy on the part of Kick Ass owner Mark Kulkis to draw attention to his company and his product. By putting a woman with rocks in her head in the public eye for the world to laugh at. Mary, they're not laughing with you, they're laughing AT YOU. It's sad that she represents the industry, that she is the FACE of the adult industry.... because you guys really have some beautiful, classy women, many with intelligence (didn't I read where Asia Carrera has a genius IQ, plus she's HOT). But instead of putting a hot babe out front, a below average looking idiot takes the spotlight. Claudio [Link] |

She is probably no more of a spectical than Arianna Huffington was tripping out of a line of fans to impose on Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Schriver on their way into the courthouse to register to run for governor. It's all California politics. None of this is consequential in the end as long as capable leaders are sorted out of the system in the end. Who I personally respect in this business: a lady who can stay off drugs, minimize the STD risks, not peak too early, save some money, and not wind up as a provider.

Carey is a better sample of the porn community than the professional, well-spoken Juli Ashton in a business suit, which always seemed weird to me. Porn is supposed to be fun / funny, and Mary reminds people of the harmlessness of the product.
