Well, I see that Falcon (who now owns them) has begun to re-release the old Matt Sterling classics from Huge Video at $80 per as a "manufacturer's suggested retail price". As good as some of these old titles are, this is a major rip-off and an insult to gay pornophiles everywhere. There is no excuse whatsoever for these price levels.
I don't know why anyone would even bother buying something direct from Falcon, unless they specifically want one of those titles that were censored.
A good portion of the Falcon flicks don't have any censorable material in them, so why pay 70-80 bucks for something that you can get at other retail web sites for around 50?
Some of these HUGE Video releases have made it to other web stores, for around $55 (which still is too damn much, if you ask me.)
I've given up on the regular Falcon flicks. Sure, they're good porn, but they all have a certain look to them that I've just grown tired of. The whole "Falcon Car Wash" look is so last century!
But these old HUGE flicks are all new to me. Are they any good? Are most of them pre-condom?
Matt Sterling defined good porn back in his early days with Huge Video. Certainly, most of his videos prior to the two compilations should be considered classics & with the exception of Scorcher, are pre-condom. From this point on, Sterling teams with Marc Frederics (aka Jeff Corey) making Euro-porn in Hungary & the Czech Republic. These are pretty good, maybe deserving of about 3-1/2 to 4 stars each; however, the team have flooded the market with some mediocre stuff as well.

From GaySatyr:I thought these last ones were made after Matt Sterling sold his name to someone else. It was my understanding that Matt had no involvement with these whatsoever.
I don't know where Sterling's involvement cut out. I have all three of these and all three are pretty good. They each consist of a series of only marginally connected scenes but the guys & sex are hot, the videography is very good and the editing is top notch. Sterling is listed as producer, either director or co-director (with Frederics) and as editor of all three. Endless Heat is also very good, maybe even the best of the four.
However, Awesome, Every Last Inch, Feel the Fire, This Is Huge & Uncut are really not worth purchasing - pretty bodies, but lackluster sex and generally poor editing.
FiveStarDVD seems to have really good prices on these HUGE releases (when they have them in stock). I just bought their last copy of Best of All #1 for $29.99!
They still have A Matter of Size in stock at the same price, if anyone is interested.
Has anyone seen Best of ALL Matt Sterling #1 yet? I just got my dvd from Five Star, and I'm really confused. From the back of the DVD, I assumed I would be getting 1 scene from each of these movies:
Bigger than Life Inch by Inch Sizing Up A Matter of Size Hung Like a Horse
But from what I can tell, the contents of the DVD is just the full movie A Matter of Size. I'm not completely sure, but I've seen most of Sizing Up, and didn't see any of those scenes, and I definately didn't see Jeff Stryker anywhere (from Bigger than Life). The DVD Label is correct, but the movie is not.
I'm not sure what I should do. Has anyone else had this problem?

The DVD versions of both of these titles were released by Video 10 - I'd contact them - it sounds as if they have a stamping problem.
I think they have more than just a stamping problem. The DVD version of A Matter of Size that I got from Fivestar has no sound! At first I thought something was wrong with my stereo setup, but I took it to my DVD changer in the living room and put five DVDs in. All of them played with sound except the one I wanted to watch! Where's the quality control when you need it?

a2williams - I had that problems with some discs in the past. Someone told me to switch my sound to analog - it worked. Of course, you shouldn't have to, especially when you pay so much for a disc.
