Once somebody from Anabolic makes a claim, the title has to live up to the billing. Anything else is false advertisement. Otherwise, Anabolic should not make claims that are not accurate. Let us see -- when did Shyla get a boob job? When was her GBG 34 scene taped? My guess is that Shyla's scene was taped in June to September 2001. To me, a scene should come out within 5 months of taping in dual format at most (4 months is actually plenty). If EA, RDL, and most other companies can do it, so should Anabolic. If Anabolic chooses not to release its titles in a timely fashion, and the fans loose interest, whose fault is it? In this competitive business environment, it is the company's fault when customers loose interest. It is the company's responsibility to create and maintain the interest, rather than the fans. The same thing happened with GBG 33. Aurora's scene in GBG 33 was taped before GBA 7 but GBA 7 came out in August 2001 and GBG 33 came out in July 2002. If Anabolic chooses to sit on the tapes for 1 year and fans loose interest, it is not the fault of the fans. Maybe your boss should review his release date policy; I have basically lost interest in the GBG series because of the delayed release dates. I was pissed about Aurora's scene in GBG 33 because of the delayed release and I was also pissed about Shyla's scene in GBG 34 because of the delayed release. The reason I am pissed is I perceive a lack of consideration by Anabolic to the fans.

If Shyla's scene was shot in August 2001 (my best guess) and you started editing in June 2002 (vaguely remember you mentioning something at that time) to meet the September 30 release date, this leaves a period of 10 months where the tapes sat on the shelves. The hype about extra features and dual release does not still excuse the 10 months that the tapes sat on the shelves. If your boss chooses to delay the release, do expect fans to loose interest. I hope you get my point and not try to explain in away with some hype or some other excuse.

It is not Shyla's fault that Anabolic made a false claim in its website, but nevertheless I will stand by the statement that Shyla did not live up expectations based on the claims made by Anabolic.

You have very deliberately not dealt the inaccuracy of the triple vag claim in Anabolic's site.

My guess, and remember this is only a guess, is that Cal444 probably started a little later in the game (DVD authoring for Ana/Dia) and has quite a large backlog of titles to transfer and author to DVD format. If I understand the process correctly, it is not a 1 day effort and takes some time to do properly.

I give him the credit for trying to respond to those of us in the forum, and trying to take care of the backload, and if I have read some of his posts correctly, trying to aim towards dual releases.

One of the series I have been waiting for on DVD for quite some time is "Nasty Nymphos", and Call444 has responded that they are working on some DVD releases for that series.

Like many others, I want it NOW, but I do feel that an effort is being made to finally move into the DVD world (which didn't seem to be the previous Ana/Dia policy).

Perhaps a little more patience and time is required, and thanks Cal444 for your responses and efforts to try and meet some of our 'demands'.

If Ana/Dia had any pride whatsoever, and any genuine respect for their fans, they would do something to remedy this situation as soon as possible. And let me be clear: I'm not saying that Ana/Dia doesn't care about their fans. I'm just saying that they don't seem to care as much as they should.

As for my own buying habits, I very seldomly buy an Anabolic/Diabolic title anymore, whereas, I used to buy titles from them all of the time. Oh, yes, I'm still looking forward to the occasional tempting title, like Ass Cream Pie or Spring Chickens 3, but for the most part, I find that I'm usually not overly interested in Ana/Dia's output.

Don't take it so hard, Wanker_Wang. In the last analysis, we're all just waiting for the next hot babe to stroke off to.

Now, Cal444, you're a different story altogether. You're almost a 180 degree turn from Dion at Red Light District. Dion will listen to customer feedback carefully, rarely become defensive, and will immediately go make improvements to his company. You, however, usually don't really listen so well, almost always tend to go on the defensive, and are not a catalyst for change at Anabolic/Diabolic. At least this is what I've observed of you in the time that I have been here at ADT. This is why I feel that RLD is a better company than yours.

Here are some examples of what I mean:

Ana/Dia's modus operandi is to shoot scenes and then sit on them seemingly forever. Here's Ana/Dia's production pattern (there are exceptions, of course, but here's what far too often has happened over the years): They shoot a scene. They needlessly wait months and months and months before they even get around to editing the scene and finalizing the movie that the scene will be used in. Then the movie sits on the shelf some more before it is finally released on video. Eventually, 6,000 years after hell has frozen over, they release it on DVD. And you, Cal444, justify all of this inefficiency by arrogantly saying "we're not a cookie cutter factory." Yeah, right.

I had been waiting for sometime for UYA 20 to be released. A while back, I had seen a release date on your web site of October 21, 2002 for that title. I marked my calendar. The day came and went. Shortly after Oct 21, I checked your site again, but the release date for UYA 20 was missing altogether. I then lost interest in the title.

Anabolic/Diabolic refuses to listen and make changes to improve their program. And you, Cal444, as their spokesperson, just endlessly goes on the defensive and jokes around. Sad.

I don't see why the cofounders of Ana/Dia can't just call a meeting with their top people, work out a plan to improve their production, post accurate release dates for upcoming titles on their web sites, and then release videos and DVDs of each new title simultaneously within a reasonable time-frame of when they were shot. Other companies can do that and still output quality product. Why can't Ana/Dia? Sometimes it seems that Ana/Dia are run by intelligent people. Other times, it seems that Ana/Dia is run by a barrel of monkeys.

If Ana/Dia is not careful, in time, they might let powerhouses like Erik Everhard and Jon Dough slip right through their fingers.

Hey guys from Anabolic, we (ADTers) are not out to get Anabolic (although a few releases do deservedly earn less than favorable comments), but rather, we want better products and quicker release dates. Remember, it does not matter if Anabolic gets the most gorgeous girls to do their first dap's, because if other companies release the girls dap's first, then Anabolic has been out scooped. Letting a tape site months on the shelf is not non-cookie cutter to me, but rather it is simply, letting the tapes sit 10 months on the shelf. Fans do not and are not willing to wait because Anabolic wants to shoot the girls in a few hectic weeks (to lower the costs) and then slowly dole out the scenes over the next 2 years. In this competitive market, efficiency in fast turnarounds is the key. Also, my comments on some series being confusing still stand. I have not seen an excellent 2-girl gangbang scene since Christopher started such scenes in Gangbang 17 (with our beloved Tricia and Chloe) and I have seen every GBG since then. Bad camerawork or editing or both mar all 2-girl scenes. A few 2-girl scenes are decent (like Tricia’s but could still be improved) and most are incoherent. Most 1-girl scenes in the GBG series are good. Now, Erik and Mike's camerawork are usually good. The point is not that Anabolic is a bad company, but there are many things that Anabolic can do to make it better.

Several easy improvements are: simultaneous releases in both formats {this is now a must because almost all major players (competitors) now make simultaneous releases}, 5 months at most from completion of shoots to street release (be efficient), and better editing and camerawork. To be fair to Cal, I think that you are finally realizing why we (long time porn viewers) criticize the edits and have started making changes. Such changes will only make you a better editor. You are a good technical editor Cal, but you need more soul in your edits so that the scenes have more coherence. Double check for mistakes as there many edits in A/D that are just sloppy, careless mistakes. Also, always provide evidence that the girls did do the nasty deeds . Many A/D titles are edited without such evidence and so it makes the viewer wonder whether the scenes are real or faked. Since the evidence exists, provide it and make the viewers happy. You can see how the lack of evidence on your part and the use of evidence on my part work in supporting a position – ROTFLMAO.

I do agree with the comments of Pontus, Big Mike, Murray, Wet Martini, and Bill.

While Anabolic/Diabolic and Red Light District may be targeting a similar audience with their product, it's tiresome to constantly compare the companies. They're in different places. Simultaneous releases for a company with a huge back catalog is a lot harder than simultaneous releases for a new company.

I also don't think it's fair to judge a company based on whether or not its owners participate on adt. Of course, it's great to have decision makers here discussing their product with us; but it's also a privelege to be able to speak to the people making the product.

By the way, the excuse of a huge back log of product making dual releases harder is just an excuse. John Stagliano himself has remarked on occasion that he has a huge back log of product. Yet, that doesn't prevent Evil Angel from making dual releases as a matter of routine now. (Yes, I know The Fashionistas wasn't a dual release, but that was the original intention for that title, and Tricia explained why, in that particular case, they elected not to do it.) EA was not doing dual releases all along, but with the valiant efforts of Tricia Devereaux and others, are now starting to routinely make dual releases. Whereas, Ana/Dia doesn't seem to be either able or willing to do that. That's the point.

Another flaw with the "huge back log" excuse is this. Unless they just stop making movies for about a year or so, how will they ever get caught up to the point of NOT having a "huge back log"? And if they ALWAYS AND FOREVER have a huge back log, then how will they EVER get to the point of dual releases as a matter of routine? See my point? It's just another one of endless excuses to justify inefficiency and lack of improvement.

Excuse-making, no matter HOW compelling and valid it seems to the person or company engaging in that practice, in the last analysis is just that: excuse-making (and LACK OF RESULTS).

The marketplace is based on RESULTS. With all else being equal, companies that find a way to be more efficient are going to keep their customers happier and sell more products.

StephDunn, there is a HUGE difference between noncontructive criticism and constructive criticism. The former is merely mean-spirited. The latter is intended to help a company improve so that they can keep their fans happier, sell more products, and make more money. Sugar-coating things sometimes works with certain companies, but definitely not with Ana/Dia. Maybe NOTHING will get them to improve their efficiency.

My approach, in this instance, is one of "tough love." I do have a great many Ana/Dia titles in my private collection that I purchased some time ago. I really love them. As I remarked in a previous post, even now, despite its current problems, I am still of the opinion that Ana/Dia is one of the finer companies. But they could be a GREAT company truly in the league of an Evil Angel if they would take constructive criticism without becoming defensive and then use the criticisms to make the needed improvements in their program.
