He said he understands and obviously everyone gets to choose who they work with. He wasn't saying that Mia's life is being run for her or anything bad like that obviously your spouse gets some input. Based on comments Mia made on Twitter even after the last scene they shot together (3-4 years ago?) it didn't seem like it was an issue of Mia not liking that pairing.
