I noticed more and more porn producers are shooting in Miami now? Why Miami? Are the business conditions better there? Are there cheaper performers available? Are they being backed by Miami drug cartels? Just curious.
As a resident and a one time South Beach condo owner can only say it's the women, the culture and the big ass tits and latin asses. I think Miami is perhaps the only place where women put on make up and wear hi heels to the laundromat. Nothing, and I've been around, compares to Ocean Drive. Take a seat at Wet Willies by the sidewalk and watch the parade. Priceless.

how many idential looking blondes with huge fake boobs and lips can u keep shooting in la?
I think it's a lot about geography and demographics, as much as a better business climate. There certainly is a large pool of latin beauties to draw on but there also seems to be a lot of southern and east coast girls flowing through that portal. I think for some of those girls the thought of getting on a plane or bus and traveling to L.A. can be daunting, but the idea of driving for a day or day and a half and giving this a fling to see if this is for them is a lot easier to get their mind around.
That is not how I see it. Of the top pornstars on the L.A scene (Kristina Rose / Tori Black / Tory Lane etc) the stereotype doesn't hold true. There's Shyla Stylez, she's right up there, but I don't believe the studios are really obsessed with blondes with big tits so much as the "Sasha Grey-factor". Even a few years back it was girls like Belladonna / Gauge / Katja Kassin that were really making waves.
from the research Ive done is that its cheaper rates like around 500-800 for a b/g In LA its 900-1100 and its easier to fine hott new talent without going through an agency, and a more diverse group of woman to pick from.
I figured people preferred to shoot in LA for three reasons: 1. largest pool of good looking women (tons of starlets coming to LA hoping to become famous) 2. availability of production staff mainstream movie biz workers available to work on porn productions (i.e. sound, lighting, cameramen, props/sets, etc) 3. liberal CA laws CA is the most liberal state in US and you are much less likely to get hit with obscenity charges etc. Regarding Miami .. Miami has a lot of good looking women there so they could satisfy (1) above. Not as many as LA of course. Number (2) above is not as important if you are shooting gonzo and not doing major productions like Wicked or Vivid. Now number (3) above I thought would nix Miami as a production haven. The state of FL is republican dominated and remember they went after that group Too Live Crew for obscene music? I remember back in the 70s and early 80s NYC was a big production spot for the same reasons LA is now. But just as most of the mainstream movie production migrated to LA so do the porn biz. SF was popular during 70s and 80s also. You still have Kink.com and a couple others shooting in SF area. I'm surprised no body shoots in Las Vegas? But I guess Vegas doesn't want to attract sex biz there.
There are not nearly as many hot women in Miami as the stereotype suggests. At least who actually live in the city. There are a lot of hot tourists, yes. One thing that I have noticed about Florida in my many trips there is that, among the native population, you have a lot of sunburned people. Constant, daily exposure to the Florida sun has worn out a lot of women's skin by the time they're in their thirties. So yeah, they show a lot of skin,...but a lot of it you don't wanna see... But does the native population matter? Porn starlets come from all over the country into SoCal. What Miami would need is that same reputation, to be East Coast version of The Valley.
Am I the only who was entering this thread ready to debate Lakers vs. Heat?

I would have to think it's due to the massive drop in the quality of life in California. It's too expensive, the state is bankrupt and crumbling, and people are fleeing. Why pay $1300 to live in the Valley when you can pay half that in south Florida? Marie Luv lives in Miami now and she's an LA native. Bella Moretti and Dia Zerva call Vegas home. Hell, Tia Ling commutes here from Cleveland. Cleveland, over LA? Unthinkable a decade ago. (I mean, yeah family probably has something to do with it. :) Still.) One reason, yes it's cheaper .... another reason , a lot of girls start out there and haven't been shot by ANYONE else. It's kinda like the break in to LA. A lot of girls shoot there first before they've done anything else.
