I have never critisized women that way either... I have had friends who started having sex as early as 13 and I never thought that about them... If anything I was envious...

And those girls turned out fine...

I agree on all except the alcohol. We tried that here in the states for awhile, and while I generally agtree with Darwin's theory of selectivity it's unfortunately true that drunken teen drivers tend to take others with them.

at 18 your an adult, so stop saying ``teen`` for 18 y.o women. I remember when i had 16 and first start watching porn, lot of website said ``Teen`` and i was expecting girl of my age because a teen for me its 13 to 17, i did not know back at that time that it was a lot controled over the net and you could not find real teen porn(at least not free)

18 is old enought to do porn, after all this is the girls decision, and if it was up to me the limit would be 16(as it would be for drinking, quit parents home etc) i think 18 is too far, after all most of us die before our 70...so the most year we can have ``full control`` the best it is. Sure not everybody is mature enought, but lets face it, its the same thing at 18.

Personally at 16 my mother did not have anymore control over me, that was something i maked clear when i came back home, no sleeping time, i watch porn if i want, i drink if i want(well in that case i can say i drinked beer near all of my life, at 10 my grand father gave me 1/3 of a bottle, at 13 i was up for the full bottle) and basically i do what i want. And today im all fine.

Eighteen versus 21? It's a morality issue. And you can't legislate morality, really.

I wouldn't say it's "fine" for an 18-year-old girl to be in adult films. But, it is ultimately their choice, right? At the same time, even if someone sits a girl down and tells them how stigmatizing a profession this is, there will be another ready to take her place.

I don't know how many others feel the way I do, but there are plenty of times when I look at a box cover and see a girl like Keri Sable, or Teagan Presley, Claire Robbins, or (fill in the blank) and say "How the hell did this girl wind up doing porn?" And yet, that's the exact reason you get that movie.

For me, I would love to see more mature women in adult films.

How old is that chick from the Harry Potter movies ? I think however old she is should be the legal age. Other than that, I know just as many 21 year olds who make horrible decisions as 18 year olds ... so I don't really see any need to raise the age.

I agree with you. How about this title: BARELY PAST PUBERTY #1. I'm there.

You can't legislate morality... but you sure can regulate an industry.

Porn should be covered by OSHA.

What other occupation can your boss fuck in the ass and then expect you to smile? Oh, I guess it's not just porn.

I guess I'm +1 for 21.

I'm all for free love and sex. Key word: free.

If you're speaking metaphorically, that indeed happens in many other professions.

Nonetheless, I don't see any point behind the discussion of raising the minimum porn age to 21. The whole idea is just senseless. In the U.S. and many other countries, the legal age of adulthood is 18. Once at the age of 18, the law no longer considers that person a child, but an adult capable of making independent choices and taking full accountability for those choices. We cannot apply that standard to some areas of life and not to others. In fact, I think a problem that we have in American society right now is that we coddle and baby the kids way too much that they never learn how to grow up and become responsible adults in the first place. Even when kids become adults, people still want to treat them like children instead of the adults that they are. When you're 18, you're grown, period! These 18 year-old girls (and guys) are adults in the eyes of the law, and no one ought to be trying to restrict them by telling them that they have to wait three more years to be treated as an adult.

Besides, most of these girls are lying about their ages anyway. We all know that half of the girls in porn claiming to be 18 are really 25.

If we required that no man in porn could ever fuck a woman in porn who was more than 10 years younger than him, all of this concern about the woman's age would be just so much trivia. The average age of men in porn is 40 and the average age of women in porn is 23 (in Europe the average age difference is far less). Therein lies the problem with dirty old men telling young impressionable women who want to please what they must do to please them. Of course, that would eliminate both my favorite and least favorite male porn stars so what to do???

I know this subject of age has cropped up many times on here but i just wanted to make a couple of points. I know a lot of people like to see 18 and 19 year old girls in porn but i prefer to watch women in there early to mid twentys, and that is my first point, 18 and 19 are still girls(god how much flak will i get for this post..lol). Some of them seem to make a few films then disapear never to be seen again. Thats why i like to see slightly older woman on film, the ones you know are going to stick around make a career out of the industy. The one thing i find disturbing is that on a Monday a girl can be 17 and it's ileagle to film her, the next day, just a few hours later, it's fine to film her getting anal, dp'd, taking on 2 or more guys, is she really sure she knows she wont regret it. I think it was Hillary Scott who said the age should be 21, and i agree. Have any of the studios got an over 21 policy only? Or do they think that would lose them to much money!

The age should be left at 18. I really can't see why it should be raised to 21, not that it would affect me personally since I'm nearly 25. Most 18 year olds are sexually developed enough to have consensual sex. Why not 20, if you are bothered by the fact that teens shouldn't do porn, juha? Why particularly 21?

I chose 21, because that's the legal age for alcohol in many US states and because it's the former general legal age.

And in Germany adults under 21 can still be punished as non-adults if the judge in court decides they are not mature.

Hmmm....strange. Apart from the U.S, I think all countries have the legal age set at 18 as far as porn and alcohol go. It's only some states which have 21 as the legal age. I think they are generally those states which are less industrialized and where the population is considered to be less educated.

Actually, the legal age of consent is lower in most EC countries, ranging from fourteen to sixteen, with the latter being the norm.

I consider this a realistic recognition of the fact that most sixteen year olds are sexually, if not emotionally, mature and that it is futile to try and prevent them from engaging in sexual activities with peers. However, EC courts do still recognize that, under certain circumstances, age difference between partners can lead to exploitation and have specific laws governing such situations.

Obviously, even if the age of consent in general were lowered in this country - something I consider highly unlikely anytime soon - sixteen would still be way too young for porn.

However, at eighteen, we consider young people old enough to vote and to serve in the military. If they're sufficiently mature to shoulder a rifle and risk death or serious injury in the service of their country, I think it a bit condescending to suggest they lack the smarts to decide whether or not to make porn.

I think the current minimum age for porn is a reasonable compromise and should be let stand. If you're old enough to have sex legally, you're old enough to have sex on camera.
