I searched for previous discussions on this with respect to technique, and came up empty handed. I'm no deep throat expert, but from playing around with a dildo and vibrator, it's pretty obvious that you hold your throat open and let it go down your trachea. Some people are under the impression that you swallow it down your esophagus. I don't think this is possible, and would hurt like hell. All you get with this method is a throat gaggers movie. I seem to recall reading something from YogaGrrl on the subject, stating that you shouldn't cum when getting deep throated. I'd like to hear from some experts on the subject. [Link] |

I did a google search and turned up a few articles with conflicting terms like "inhaling" it in to "swallowing" it. One of the articles by a woman who professes to being an expert talks about breathing patterns while taking it in and out. There's a big difference between having it all the way to the back of your throat without gagging and actually having it go down your throat, which is what I was referring to. Belladonna's scene with the long dildo in Fashionista's comes to mind, and the other deep throat scenes in that movie. Why can't they breath through the nose while deep throating. Does having an object go down your esophagus pinch the airway? Can you continue breathing through the nose as you swallow? I can't, but there are muscular contractions going on. I did a search on sword swallowers who do put objects all the way down the esophagus, and found a site with some neat xrays. I assume if they can hang around long enough for an xray they can still breath. There was a reference to a BBC program that also used a sword swallower to get pictures of the pharynx in action, which is using an endoscope inside the airway. | Sir Noel Plum Senior Studmuffin 1001 Posts 2/03 | Posted - Feb 7 2004 : 7:22AM Go past your tongue and you reach the epiglottis. Past the epiglottis is the trachea and then the oesophagus. The nasal passages turn into the top of the pharynx at a point above all of this lot (ie at the back of the mouth). So, if you stick a penis down your throat it rides over the tongue and over the trachea, which at this point is closed off by the epiglottis sliding over, and down the oesophagus. For air to get from the nasal passages the epiglottis would have to remain open under the penis and the air would have to travel around the penis, in other words the throat would have to be actively greater in diameter than the penis. If you hyperventilate for a while to drive all the CO2 out your lungs you should easily be able to stop breathing for over a minute (you might even manage two) which is plenty of time to take a few pictures!
