What I was trying to point to is that I as a consumer of porn - and I hear many other guys agree with this all the time - see porn as a consumable and not an art form or any other type of media that somehow creates meaning. Providing a context around a banana might stimulate culinary ecstasy for some, I'd rather just eat the banana. Analogue with this I don't want a context for the material I use to sexually stimulate myself with. While this is obviously arbitrary, it's in no way illegitimate to compare a manner of consumption to a manner of presentation and use an analogy to clarify why I wish the great content in that movie hadn't been subdued with meaning I'm not looking for. And that does not detract from your work, or attacks the preferences of others. It's just a reasonable view on what porn is, or, as others might argue, a view on what (a considerable group of) people make of it, regardless of the intention it was made with. We cool now, Misha? Click to expand That isn't quite right. The UK doesn't ask to leave, it tells the EU it is going to leave. The EU can't say no. Shortly the UK will have to invoke article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty which announces that it has decided to leave; it must do this in line with the referendum result. It will actually leave two years from the date that it invokes article 50. Until that time, nothing changes and British actors/actresses still have the freedom to live and work anywhre inside the EU. The two year period will enable the parties to negotiate the terms. What happens after we leave depends on what the negotiations achieve. It may be that nothing much changes in respect of work. For example, if the UK wants to stay within the economic single market, the EU may dictate that it has to allow freedom of movement for workers. Norway, for instance, is a member of the single market, but not a member of the EU. A condition of being in the single market is to allow the free movement of EU citizens in and out of Norway. If the UK withdraws completely from the single market, it will be more difficult for British actors to work in other EU countries. As a consequence, that baggage kinda bleeds into everything that the culture touches. I like Misha's work. Yeah, I'd like to see her in a proper IR scene, but I do not blame her or think that she is racist for not doing so. In case many of you didn't really read into her responses, she is not kidding when she implies that the decision is not a light one. That isn't because of her personal preference for scenes, that is because of how the industry works. Going into IR scenes is a career altering move, not only for how the industry will address an actress at that point, but for the very real cultural backlash that comes from small groups of consumers that spend disproportionately in the industry. You don't need to take my word for it or Misha's word for it, though. A number of other prominent actors/actresses have spoken out when they've developed the capital/clout to safely do so. I look forward to one day seeing 12+ inches of BBC stretching that cute little hole, but in the interim I'd ask people to not press Misha too hard about it. The circumstances surrounding that decision are not the kind she can do much about. It's silly to blame her. She doesn't need our contempt, she needs our support. " I wouldn't be surprised if both are considerations for Misha. When it comes to pacing her career, IR firsts are the only firsts she has left. Insofar as the financial incentive, it's certainly possible that she'd like a showcase or at least a big payday. I should note that what I described are basically old era concerns. Blacked has now changed things and the number of performers shooting IR early in their careers seems unprecedented. [Link]

As it stands, it's an easier thing for newer actresses versus others who have been in for a while (as it is with any break in old trends). With strong enough support from her fans, Misha will be free to do what she wants as opposed to what the industry says she should do. [Link]
