There should be some kind of 12 step program available to the adult community. In light of the recent suicides and drug overdoses I think this would be a wise move. I for one would like to set up a weekly meeting for those that need to attend. Anyone interested in helping get this off the ground please email me. I propose an hour and a half speaker meeting, with participation. We could meet on wed. nights. It would be run as a 12 step program strictly for members of the adult community.
^^^Most are damaged well before they enter the industry. Maybe screen for mental illness like they do in the military. Make sure participants are mentally tough enough to handle the biz.

It is never to late to recover. You can't unring the bell from your past, but you can live anew every day. Each new day is a chance to get well or sink deeper in the black hole. If people who are sick have someplace to go, where other people share their problems and have learned how to live with it, it helps.

Regarding Roxetta and Mickey G: I completely dismissed her ranting posts, some time back; telling us about having him arrested, as mostly ravings of an unstable druggie. But after reading that story Tricia shared with us a few posts back, maybe she (Roxetta) wasn't as nutty as I first thought.

You mean like for the ones that either don't show up or flake out at a shoot? And these same people would actually show up clean and unstrung out at these meetings why?

I referring to her mental state. That is something you can not fix completely. With a stable environment and medication, you may be able to deal with it but that's it. She was obviously hurting. The prescription drugs were probably to represses her emotional state. Missy over did it. Where I do agree is that if she had first class medical coverage that treated mental illness the same as any other disease and a good support structure she would have had the best possible chance at decent life. From what I gather from the article, Missy felt like she was a burden to every one around her. No one could take care of her. Her porn career was only a symptom of a much greater underlining problem.
Missy was a great porn star. She seemed so sweet too. I was looking at her wikipedia article, and found this this on the talk page of it - six weeks before her death was annouced by AVN.Missy's wiki talk page
