The BFI name this release amongst their best of the year. "Release of the year in my opinion. Distribpix went the whole hog with their beautiful transfer of this ‘Henry Paris’ classic, and their Project Misty fundraising campaign made it possible to bring it to Blu-ray. It’s sad to think that it takes a funding campaign for companies such as this to be able to afford to release on Blu-ray, but it’s heartening to know there are so many people out there who care enough to make it happen."
^Okay, if you'll forgive me going completely off topic here, but the top of Ms GGG's referred page has a piece about the old silent movie, The Passion of Joan of Arc. I have a video of this, set to Richard Einhorn's oratorio Voices of Light. Separately, the film and the music are each stunning; together, they comprise one of the most powerfully moving artistic experiences of my life. Highly recommended. The starkness of Mr Dreyer's images, the expressiveness of Ms Falconeti's face, the haunting beauty of Mr Einhorn's music are unforgettable. And now, back to the topic. Sorry about that.
Available from Criterion in the States and Eureka/Masters of Cinema in the UK. MOC has the newly restored blu, but it does not have Voices Of Light (which I agree is great). As for Misty, I finally watched my copy I received from Project Misty. It looked fantastic on Blu-ray.
I recently viewed my fully restored version of The Opening Of Misty Beethoven.I truly loved the behind the scenes especially the final Jamie Gillis(R.I.P.)interview.Now I await the best which has been saved for last Barbara Broadcast (early 2013 release).
Just another bare bum in the shiower 1739 Posts 12/04

This is a really beautiful edition of a beautiful movie. These restorations have really been top notch and I hope the effort continues beyond Barbara Broadcast. The making of documentary and the featurettes on Constance Money and Jamie Gillis were extremely well done.
I know this isn't the trading forum, but if anyone wants a copy of the DVD, I have one to sell. I bought this through Project Misty so received a Blu-ray and DVD. It's a fantastic release. The one caveat is that I will be keeping the booklet, because there is only one copy of it between the 2 versions. This is a brand new DVD not shrinkwrapped (which is how it was sent to me). $24 shipped to any interested party. Please PM me.
I saw it projected the last time they played it for a midnight show at the New Beverly. It was fully sold out and a pretty cool vibe. Certainly the only time I've seen "porn" in a theatre.
