I'd say there's a good chance we'll see this tattoo in various stages of completion over the course of Monique's upcoming movies. (One thing tattoo addicts seem to enjoy is showing off their tattoos in various stages of completion--I guess Monique is fitting the profile perfectly.) Also bear in mind that Vivid is both sitting on a number of movies already in the can, and that they're not releasing them in the order they were shot. For instance, "Sunny Loves Matt" and "Please Me" both featured a Monique with a wrist tattoo. However, in her latest release as of this writing, "Watching My Wife," she lacks the wrist tattoo. I bet her next couple of releases, "Cry Wolf" and "Where the Boys Arent #19" will not feature that wrist tattoo. How many more movies will be released before the newest tattoo makes an appearance even in its outline form is anybody's guess--I figure it will be late autumn 2008, at the earliest. [Link] |

BTW, Monique posted photos of those two tattoos on her My Space page LONG before they ever turned up in a Vivid movie. She had captions telling about how proud she was of getting them. Then all of a sudden, they started getting bigger--too big to be tasteful any more. Then she got her arms sleeved and huge tattoos on other parts of her body. I saw her on the Howard Stern show, and Stern asked her about the reason for all the tattoos. Janine replied that she didn't want to still be doing porn by the time she was forty, so she was getting a full body suit in order to make a porn career impossible for herself. I think that comment of hers says a lot about Janine's bad judgement. Janine quit long before she got her body suit finished--I don't know if she's still planning on completing it, or if she's given up on the project. There are several ironies to Janine's comment, though. Firstly, she retired from porn, but then made a comeback (after she was forty, I believe), so the tattoos failed in that respect. Secondly, even if she did have a full body suit, I don't think that would stop anybody from hiring Janine as a porn actress. Thirdly, if she hadn't gotten all inked up, she would have looked incredible long after she passed forty and could have maintained her position as a top porn star for many years to come. The thing is, Janine's comment shows that she wanted out of the business a long time ago, but she just couldn't walk away on her own, so she was passively-agressively trying to get forced out. And even after she did leave, she couldn't keep herself from coming back. But enough of my trying to psychoanalize Janine. The point is, Is this a round-about way for Monique to try to get out of the industry? I don't know--but the situation does seem to eerily mirror Janine's in some ways. At the very least, all I can say is that Monique has very poor judgement and very bad taste in most of her tattoo decisions. [Link] |

I started seeking out her movies after that, and at the time, they were actually hard to find! She was that new to porn. I was so happy when she finally became a Vivid girl and moved into porn's mainstream. As for your "squares" comment, don't think that my berating Monique's tattoos makes me a square. I've got nothing against tattoos in principle. In fact, IN PRINCIPLE, I love tattoos! I will even confess to having a tattoo fetish. A good tattoo can make a girl so much hotter! The problem is, bad tattoos have the opposite effect--and IMHO, most of the tattoos I see out there on most people (including porn stars) are in bad taste. I love the Hello Kitty tattoo Monique has on her belly, but as for the rest of her tattoos--all I can say is, Monique might possibly win an award for worst taste in tattoo selection. How sad that such a giant of porn messed her career up like this.
