I have a question?if you watch Red Light District Dvds, you know we have allot of trailors on our Dvds, but on a dvd 9, you can only put so much footage on this disk, before you lose quality, we shoot so much behind the scene footage, and it goes to waste,My question is, should I put more Behind the Scenes footage and less trailors? I think this is a very good question to ask.

I would say yes, more bts and a few less trailers.

My reason, if I like a particular series, I am going to get the other DVD's in that series whether I see a trailer or not, so the trailer is redundant. But the bts stuff I won't find anywhere else.

More behind the scenes please instead of the trailers. And if possible without the website marks.

Another great idea is putting all the trailers, behind the scenes and other extra stuff on a second disc like Evolution Erotica does. Then we have it all (footage, trailers, behind the scenes, ...) without loosing quality.

Why dont you put all the trailers on the other side of the disk? Personally, I like watching the trailors, and have made many decisions to pick up releases based on watching a good trailer.

Trailers are a waste of space IMO. It's always better to ad extra behind the scenes footage.

More bts, less trailers. But if possible put trailers in other side of disc, they help me sometimes when I doubt if buy or not a title, choosing a dvd for that I see in trailer.

Definitely more BTS. Trailers are so repetitive as I buy 98% of your DVDs anyway. The BTS is unique and always of great interest for me.

thanks for asking the fans, Dion! RLD rules.

You should keep the trailers as recent as possible. If you watch more than a couple RLD movies every few weeks (or days!), they become pointless because you've already seen 'em all. I would update them constantly -- esp. since there are so many more RLD releases coming out now with all your directors.

That said, I'd be fine with more behind the scenes stuff, and maybe 6 trailers -- but really GOOD trailers of the stuff that's new or coming soon.

Thanx for sharing the market reaearch, you're obviously as nice a guy as everyone says. We decided the trailers were
taking up too much valuable disc space too and have alleviated them all together. You won't see it for a while but it seemed the obvious choice once the space versus content issue was addressed.

save space by cutting teh trailors down. Think about only having "very recent" trailors. For example it no use buying Assault that ass 4 and on the DVD if it has trailors for Assault that ass #1

I think all the clamoring for more behind the scene footage is worth taking notice of: As much as the most -eyed-in-the-wool raincoater likes his DAP-DP-A2OGM-Anal creampie fuck-fest, he likes it even better if there's a little personality to go with all that flesh and jism.

Of course it's a lot harder to quantify how much personality there is on a film. It's so much easier to list how many ass-to-mouth cum shots, etc there are on a particular tape.

Thanks for asking Dion and even more so for moving so fast to add more Behind the scenes!! I look forward to seeing more of what goes on as the movie is made, Evolution did a great job with this on the Ass Eaters dvd which I just reviewed.

Given the tight timeframe, I don't know if this is possible. But I would love to see trailers of the other RLD titles that are being released the same month as the movie that I just bought.

The only other trailers that I would include would be for the other volumes of series that I'm watching. I disagree with snowden porn on that one. I think that if I rent or buy "Assault That Ass 4" and it's the first in the "Assault That Ass" series that I've seen and I like it, I'm more likely to look at the trailers of the previous volumes to see if I should go back and look for something that I've missed or not.

Also, better than the "Behind the Scenes" are the "Bonus Scenes". I'm likely to watch the BTS once and only once. I'm likely to watch a good bonus scene many times.

This may seem totally obvious or totally stupid, depending on your point of view, but all this interest in behind the scenes footage makes me wonder why someone doesn't produce a documentary on the adult industry focusing on the production aspects of making porn. I think it would be both informative for viewers and profitable. There is obviously quite a bit of interest in this sort of thing among the hardcore porn fans that post on this board, but I also think it could have mainstream crossover appeal as well. If you think about it, most mainstream media treatments of the adult industry focus on the more controversial aspects of the business, but they also are pretty widely viewed. People are interested in porn, but it's only when the mainstream media does a story on it that they really get to indulge that interest without the guilt of actually watching porn, or at least that's what it looks like to me. There's really very little out there for people that are interested in learning more about the industry, or maybe just find it interesting, that isn't totally sensationalized or made with idea of being controversial.

I'm interested to know if anyone else thinks this might be a good idea. Thanks.

Evolution Erotica been doing it, Sineplex has just begun doing it.

When when RDL start doing it?

More behind the scenes stuff is definately a better idea than more trailers. The BTS stuff is great to see some times. I have seen all of RLD's older titles anyway.

Another vote for BTS (I'm assuming that by BTS, you mean the inclusion of explicit (uncensored hardcore) footage e.g. another camera filming the sex scenes begin filmed (if you see what I mean) in addition to e.g. girls in make-up etc).

As for Porn Scout’s suggestion, there seems to be a few (mainstream) documentaries which at least touch upon the production aspect, although, as Porn Scout mentions, they frequently have an ‘editorial stance' which concentrates on the negatives (I’m not suggesting that they should be artificially positive in their outlook, just balanced/factual).

Personally, I would also like documentaries to contain explicit footage, which means that they wouldn't get shown on Network (or cable?) TV (BTW, Am I correct in thinking that “Porn: A Family Business” was ‘blurred’ in the US too?). This, in turn, means a limited potential market for the mainstream producers, which, presumably, is the reason why they are invariably censored. This would not be a problem in many mainland European countries however - e.g. the mainstream French Canal+ channels have a monthly 'magazine' programme “Le Journal Du Hard” (presented by Clara Morgane BTW) which contains some (explicit) reports from porn shoots along with (explicit) footage from new release movies: Pity the programme only lasts 15 minutes, and my French isn't all it could (should?) be

On (slightly) related topics, I'm also a big fan of (again, explicit) footage/reports from Adult Expos - I assume that mainland European Expos would make the best subject matter (I'm guessing that the US ones do not have live sex shows?). I also like footage of stills photo shoots (e.g. in Private Casting movies).
