Quick run down.. 60s beginnings 70s "golden age" 80s boom 90s stylish 00s mass produced shite! Just like all businesses recently everything is becoming commoditized and churned out low quality mediocrity. And this at a time when the internet and pirated movies, music, tv is incredibly easily available and so people are saying if you are going to keep feeding us this low quality mass produced rubbish stuff you I'll get it for free. What we need is a return to the golden age with beautiful girls of today ENJOYING themselves. Not mass-produced 5 scenes of poor young girls getting jack-hammered senseless by huge cocks screaming usually in poorly disguised discomfort. Re art of sex... intimacy was definitely the wrong word ;) I think enjoyment is the better word. Scenes where the girls are really enjoying the sex and can then focus more on their faces in pleasure not discomfort because of the jack-hammering. Just because something sells doesn't mean the consumer thinks the product is great (it's porn afterall, people will always buy porn no matter how bad it is). They complain about piracy and laugh at people saying if they just made a better product people wouldn't pirate so much. But maybe they are right because it is probably much too late to turn the wheel around. You won't stop people from thinking your porn is mass produced disposable garbage that has no real value after a decade of porn without the factors mentioned in this thread like eroticism and enjoyment. I'm always amazed whenever I watch a movie from the 70s by how much I actually enjoy watching it. And that is simply because it is not conveyor-belt type porn like everything from today, it is not predictable how the scenes are shot, how they turn out and even how they end (with a cumshot of course but not this type of "masturbating into a girls' face cumshot" you see today in every fucking scene). And most importantly the women seem to enjoy themselves and the sex and the male performers don't turn me off so much (except for Ron Jeremy of course). Back then the sex was still about FUN and this transcribes to the viewer. I would love to see a movie shot like this from today without the shortcomings that 70s porn used to have (scenes way too short, too much hair etc.) but there are none. By the way Viv Thomas said they want to produce more movies like "The Art of Sex" in 2010 and I think they are onto something. They probably realized that they have found a "niche" (which actually shouldn't be a niche) that might sell really well. It's funny noone else seems to recognize this. I can only hope that companies like Viv Thomas will survive just because they try to always make a better product and give the customers what they want. It will be a slap in the face to all those denying the quality of porn doesn't make any difference with piracy. I'm not saying I want all that lovey dovey crap, but it's interesting that any time anyone asks for porn that's less than the "tight teens who can barely handle monster cocks slamming their tiny cunts" type of porn, it's automatically relegated to the softcore, the feature, the romantic. And while Viv Thomas' work is very nice, it does tend to fall into that latter category. But if I understand the creator of this thread correctly, it's more about getting away from the formulaic humdrum and shooting more erotic sex with real pleasure! Though many women enjoy getting fucked nice and hard, including me, it's tiring to see this one-trick-pony type of fucking, and it's definitely not the only way to make a good scene! I think different positions would be needed to make this 'new genre' really work; positions that actually bring pleasure to the female, because far too often I see chicks bent like Barbie dolls in these terribly awkward positions, and they do their best to make the scene work, but it's obvious that it's not comfortable for them.
