'Painful' wouldn't be the right word. And usually the curve isn't at a very severe angle. There's actually just kind of an adjustment in the motion that you move in. Might start a bit slower and more careful to get the feel of it, and your bodies just adjust to an off-center movement when you are grinding. This doesn't apply to a cock bent upward or downward. A dick bent downward (as the guy stands, upward if he's flat on his back) can be really pleasant, like sliding along a rocker, extra clit stimulation.

Blowjobs might not be quite as smooth either, if the curve angle is severe -- but there's a body-memory thing that will allow the girl to get the hang of when to zig and when to zag, after a minute or two.

Usually the curve isn't too extreme, though. Dukenukem, if the curve doesn't slow you down much masturbating, it won't be any significant impediment to screwing or blowjobs. It really is just a moment for the girl to adjust, and a little shimmy.

You can judge for yourself depending on how curved it is.

Just from what you mentioned, I would NOT expect pain to be involved.
