Poor Cody. Poor poor Cody. You can't help but feel a little sorry for her and wonder if she really knew what she was getting into when she signed on for this. Maybe this scene is all acting. Maybe. But if it is, it would have been a good idea to do what sites like Kink do, which is to do both a pre- and post-scene interview. The pre-scene interview can outline that the model has safe words and the post-scene interview can confirm that there was consent and that it was acting, or that the model is big into BDSM and wanted to be treated roughly. This DVD does neither and leaves one wondering what's really going on.

As an aside, I either didn't know or had forgotten that Cody Lane died a few years ago after being struck by a car. Sad news.

Thing is I probably would've watched this scene out of curiosity if - (as you rightly pointed out) it had a Kink-type pre- & post-scene interview to let the audience know that the model was in control at all times. I believe this knowledge of the performer's consent & safety becomes imperative to my ability to enjoy a scene, especially in this type of ultra hardcore pseudo-rape content. It's a bit of a slippery slope to make such scenes without having any type of verbal confirmation from the model that she has consented to the harsh treatment we are about to see her get subjected to & that she has the power to stop the scene whenever she wants.
