The reason I'm asking is because doing some research I discovered that guys usually earn $300 - $600 on average per scene (please correct me if I'm wrong on that). I also did research to see how long an average porn scene takes to shoot and it seems like they typically take around 4-5 hours on average (that includes EVERYTHING - from the time of arrival on set until the time they leave, not just the video and photo; again correct me if I'm incorrect). So if you do the simple math using $400 for a 4 hour scene, a guy earns around $100 an hour to bang a hot chick. Not too bad compared to the average working guy, if anything much better than a typical middle-class income. So here's my question (especially to people who work in the industry): are there male performers who's main motivation (or sole motivation) to do lots of scenes is the money and not the sex? Another thing I always found odd is that you'll have a certain "top level" of performer (this includes people like Ferrara, Deen, Everhard, Steve Holmes, Mark Wood, Mark Davis, Mr Pete, Sean Michaels, etc.) who appear in about 300-350 scenes per year if you do the math (so basically one scene every day). Then there is a "second-tier" performer (the majority of guys who work in porn) who peforms in lots of scenes but not tons of scenes (on average in the range of 150-200 scenes per year). So what is the difference between these two "tiers" because as a long-time viewer of porn I notice no difference in performance when they are in a scene. On a related topic: what exactly determines the pay rate that male performers earn? As I mentioned earlier the so-called "top performers" do just as good a job performing as the second-tier guys IMO (after all what straight male is paying that much attention to the guy anyway) so why do they earn more? What factors go into a producer/director saying "I'm going to pay you a few hundred dollars more per scene than this other guy"? Edited by - Cloudburst on Apr 19 2014 [Link] |

So say, for example Siri did a b/g scene with James Deen. Neither would pay each other for the scene, but Siri would put it on her site, and James would put it on his. [Link] |
