I think Truvada use for PREP should be allowed in porn but not required. The side effect issue and cost are just too high a hurdle to overcome for anyone arguing to require it for all performers.

It's a bad idea. There is a significant risk of developing resistance to the antivirals and there has only been one trial performed on it without a significant number of participants. And the trial itself was flawed, with a lot of confounding factors. As well as the fact that the "successful" trial was carried out in the homosexual and transgender populations. A similar trial on women in South Africa was ceased early due to safety concerns.
The use of antiretro-virals based on one positive trial is both foolish and unsafe. It sounds like the pharmaceutical companies are probably lobbying for the US government to push for this to increase their profits in the developed world and the States, given the poor profits in the developing world.
