I have always been intrigued by what determines how many movies any particular pornstar makes in a year.

Some seem to appear in 20+ (or more) per year, whereas this can represent 3 years work for others. Apart from the obvious, such as looks, type of scene they are prepared to do, career break, etc. why is this? There is still quite a variation even if you discount these factors.

Also do hardcore photoshoots for websites, magazines, whatever, pay as much as a scene in a movie?

i think once a girl is through her first couple months in the biz where it's really easy for her to get lots of jobs it all comes down to how motivated and professional(minimal flaking) the girl is, the ones who continue to get alot of work get it through hard work networking and promoting themselves.

Websites CAN pay way more than movie work but most girls I see with sites struggle cuz it's just a whole lot of work OR usually they get hooked up with an Internet porn company and they wind up making very little. Internet porn companies are far sleazier than the movie companies. I am part of it - every day I get more depressed seeing what they have done to it. They are destroying it and there's nothing to do to stop it. A girl running her own site can make maybe a few grand a month but she'd have to be VERY serious about it.

Other work outside of movies - magazine modeling pays about the same as a movie shoot. $500 for a day of solo stills, $600 for b/g - g/g would be a bit less. If the girl is shooting stills for a photographer who sells to the big magazines the girl gets paid more down the road if her photos get into the magazine - even more if she is the centerfold. Can take a long time to see that money, heard as long as 2 years. Shooting for Internet sites is the same payscale. $800 for b/g video. Lots of webmasters brag that they lowball girls and get them for $400 - maybe they do but we pay girls well.

Girls who are not lazy can make a big living for a 20 year old unskilled and usually not that educated female. $200,000 a year is doable.
