When I go into Windows Media Centre and you get the little square thumbnails, when ever I reach the ones with the MPG4 videos the system sort of freezes up. I doesn't totally freeze but everything goes grindingly 'slow' - not just 'slow' but 'virtually stops'. You can't barely manipulate the mouse pointer so you have to turn the machine off. I don't even get so far as trying to actually play the video in Media Centre - as soon as the MPG4 film thumbnail appears on the screen, that's it. I don't mind that I can't play them in Media Centre, but I don't want to have to save them in an isolated file. The MPG4 files don't seem to have viruses as (a) I checked and (b) if I click them from Explore menu they play ok as Quicktime files. Anyone know what gives ? Z. [Link] |
