Do you think adult companies rather should focus more on music or transfer instead of putting effort on features like Multiple Angles or corny extras? I am just curious for what people think? Personally I like camera angles if they are used properly, and don't slice the movie in pieces, or jump to a different position when the angle is activated.  [Link] |

I would rather watch one 5 minute sex scene and catch all of the action in one viewing than have to rewind and watch the same segment in a different angle to see if I missed something. There's a lot of good stuff coming out on DVD now from studios new to the DVD arena. It's time for some of the big boys in the business to rise to the occasion.  [Link] |

I think the only way to make multi angles work is to have 3 different camera's filming. Then they could have just the plain edited version and 2 close up angles that don't change. The one thing that burns me is when a company advertises multi angle, and all it is just a reverse view of the same shot. I Guess you could have more the 3 angles, but I feel your wasting bandwidth on the disc if you do that. What about Extra's? What would people like in the way of extra's? You see ladies and Gentlemen..there's a solid Vivid title named Extreme Sex..I gave it high ratings on my review, because it's good. Now, this title has camera angles..but are they used properly? Well to a certain point they're not bad, but some are just weird. There is a scene with this petite porn chic, actually it's the first action bangin scene now that I think about it. He bangs her in doggystyle position right, then, they proceed to do it on the floor next, which is a different position. Now, I'm watching her get on top of him, while he's lying flat out on the floor, and she gets down flat also, but she's banging him. The angle logo comes up..I decide to check it out..but I find out, that she is in the sitting position on top of him (froggy style=fetus position and hopping on the schlong like no tomorrow)..and banging him lovely. What gives!?! Why couldn't they show more of this position instead? How does it happen when I'm watching her flat out on top of him banging him, that when I change the camera angle, it's a different position? Not only this, I hate when the moaning and banging sounds in camera angles are not heard, because you hear only the actual voices and sounds from the straight forward scene. You know, I say have only 1 or 2 camera angles instead like 3 or 4 which is ridiculous. Plus I don't find interest. Why can't they focus more with the camera on a basic scene but put more heart into their camera work? Forget about focusing too much on a man's back, forget focusing too much on a woman's knee, focus a little on the body, face, and a lot on the nude parts. I mean Timeless had no camera angles and the action was glorious. From far away in action scene two, in Timeless..you can see the guy bone the girl from a distance. I never seen that before. That's good camera work and focusing. Yet I'm sure if this movie was from another company and had camera angles, you just watch the lesbian scene up close and then press camera angle button to view the other couple banging each other from a distance. What sucks is when out of that whole 2 hr side..only one preview turns me on!!! The most important thing COMPANIES OUT THERE YA LISTENING is the transfer! I bet you today, that if a dvd porn title had a spectacular transfer like Austin Powers 2 or Rush Hour, their sales would skyrocket even more. This is because if the transfer looks extremely sharp, the porn movie would look more exotic..and more seducing for the viewer. The pussy looks better, the action looks hotter on a better quality porn dvd..and you just would ignore the camera angle crap, and the extras. The Window was a great sexual performance from Vivid.. but what about the image quality? What a shame. Sadness. I can't believe it. We're supposed to eat this shit? There's often a picture in picture or some sort of on-screen logo that's burned into the picture 3.) The sound is almost never synched between the angles because the footage is not shot simultaneously but rather is made up of different edits from several different cameras. 4.) A certain studio used to cheat on its early titles by electronically flipping the video image and calling that a different angle. Sure, that's fine if you think looking in the mirror offers a completely different view. Saki says that mutiple angles are a gimmick...just put the extra footage somewhere else on the disc, or better yet, spend the money on some quality extras. It's a dumb gimmick and in Vivid's case is all part of what they have done with the extra menus: in order to fit all this stuff on there they have chopped out whole scenes from their films. Dumb and not in the consumer's best interest ------ What I would like to see is what a number of posters have already commented on -a choice of full-body shots (or even mid-shots) and closeups. Ideally, there'd also be aome way of skipping the guy-about-to-come eyeball-popping shot as well, I'd prefer the damn jump-cut from the girl on her back (or whatever) to the girl's smiling face, no idiot's painful-looking mug neccecary. On the subject o fthe Vivid DVDs, it's a shame in some ways, because there are some titles of theirs I have on VHS that I woul dhave like to "upgrade" to DVD, such as Borderline, or Bobbysox, but won;'t touch because they have been cut (Borderline) or may have been cut (Bobbysox). For that matter, knowing Vivid's cuts are so rampant within their DVD range (Kobe's Tie is another one I know of) that I simply refuse to purchase -any- of their DVD product at all, since I will have no idea what I'm getting. I like Vivid, but I can't take the 2hr of extras anymore. Original Sin so far has good extras, but the other discs with 2hr extras aren't cutting the cheese if you know what I mean. Timeless's transfer blew my socks off like charlie brown! Bodyslammin 2 also had a great and well done transfer. If you check out Vivid's Extreme Sex, what a great transfer! Now how come all aren't like this? Especially their top contender Seven Deadly Sins which was an awesome awesome disc? I never heard of VCA or Digital Studios or Sunshine...and there transfers outshine Vivid's! I also noticed that in camera angles, the color of the skin changes! What is that all about? I am so disappointed on the price tags for these VHS quality looking titles. Sad I mean to play the 2hr bonus side just to see only one preview! That is what I do! I only play it to see one little thing here and there. Then I get Timeless..and it blows the roof out of my house! I say that this VCA title with hardly no extras, without camera angles puts many many Vivid titles to shame. How can I enjoy the sex on screen, when it's too dam dark, or pixely or faded? ARGH. One of the actresses is admiring herself in some lacey thingy before going out to seduce her husband at the office. Depending on which angle you pick, she's trying on a different outfit. She ultimately goes with a fairly ugly green, though... My real complaint with Vivid's extra content is that is doesn't seem to change from one disc to the next. If I have to walk through that damn dungeon again in the vain hope I'm going to grab the key... I would really appreciate it if they had some content with thought on those discs. A different interview behind each door would be nice (for example). How about extras that actually relate to the disc you purchased? How many of you have spotlights on girls that aren't actually in the film you bought? What do I want in terms of extras? 1) I want more commentary tracks. 2) I want interviews with the actors/actresses where they talk about this specific movie. 3) I want real behind-the-scenes footage. 4) I want you to ditch that freaking VR menu interface. Dungeon or airport hangar lobby, get rid of it. 5) If you're going to a bio on one of the girls, make sure she's in the film, and give me an option to see a particularly good scene with her in it from the bio. 6) Ditch the "virtual rooms" where some innocuous object lights up and you can select it to see a completely unrelated sex scene. 7) An audio track without the bass-heavy thump of the music. 8) An audio track without the shrill moans of the actors. 9) I have to hand it to Vivid... at least their previews look like previews. Some studios apparently slaps some scenes together, put up a couple frames of the movie title, and calls it good. I call it crap. You work hard to come up with a plot for these movies, at least let us know why you decided to call the movie "House of Lies" or whatever. 10) Some studios have a spiffy montage at the begging of the disc. This is fine. Please make it selectable from the menu. If a movie is edited properly it already consists of multiple angles in the literal sense, pre-selected, so to speak, in the editing room. Also, due to the formulaic nature by which porn scenes are shot, even good scenes, there generally *are* only one or sometimes two optimal angles to shoot any particular position from anyway. 2- Transfer quality: I've seen some poor transfers on other company's disks. My movie editor also has a graphic artist on staff to make my DVDs. They have an expensive system to author my DVDs and capture the raw footage directly from the *original* source tapes, to preserve the maximum video quality, since there is no one-generation (or more)loss from using the final edited master, or even a dub of it like some other companies must do. 3- Extras: It helps if the person orchestrating the extras actually has something to do with the making of the movie. I try to have personalize the bios and give a little information about the girls , especially since I shoot a lot of new faces that are unknowns. I also like trailers (great advertising) and as I release more and more movies, I will have every previous title's trailers selectable on future releases. Behind-the-scenes footage, can be interesting, it kinda depends on the particular shoot though what I come back with. For example, on my upcoming "Brazilian Babes #1" DVD, there's some footage from a porn convention in Sao Paulo that I attended with some of the ladies around the time that I shot the movie, so you'll get that. Interviews wouldn't work in that case, because most of the talent couldn't speak English! In some other cases I think little mini-interviews would be neat and I intend to do that on "Lesbian Cheerleader Squad #2". (Hmm, "What was your first time with a girl?" comes to mind as a neat interview question, he he). As far as director commentaries, I don't know. Do you guys really want to hear me ramble on like Stephen Spielberg about a porno?
