One more guys..the camera angle replies were great. You guys rock!
And now for the other question that concerns me:
Do we really need the music in adult titles? You know, while they're doing it?
You may think that some adult company like Vivid or any other adult company has gotten exclusive rights to great songs like Enigma 1 or 2 or 3 or 4..and incorporate it into their scenes....but Noooooooooo...we get "don't go messing with a country boy, country boy, country boy, don't go messin with.."
..huuuuh..I give up.
Why do they have bad taste when picking out a soundtrack?
Timeless had a great soundtrack in scene #1..Extreme Sex had a great soundtrack at the last scene..but such a handful.

I don't mind music as long as it matches the tone of the video and as long as it's not overpowering. Porn is synonomous with bad music precisely because it was just thrown in without any thought.
Porn music used to be well-planned. Stuff from the Golden Age often had music and lyrics written specifically for the movie. It made a difference to hear references in the lyrics to the theme of the movie!
I think that porn is coming around again. Some studios are again commissioning new music rather than picking from a CD library of stock musical soundtracks. And with the growing popularity of porn in the "alternative" mainstream musical circles, I think we will see some high budget projects in the future that will have some recognizable sounds.
I mean, if Janine can be on the cover of a Blink 182 album, we can't be that far from having Blink 182 lend some instrumentation to Janine's movies, can we?

BTW, good topics, sonic!

I'm a big fan of music during sex, when done right. A Ninn flick without the music track would be boring.

I can say that I definitely dislike music in my porn! Hate it! I like to hear everything that's going on, and I feel that music of any kind takes away from that. It would be really cool if studios could start including 2 audio tracks, one with music, one without. It doesn't seem like this would be very difficult, if they can include 5 different language tracks, surely they can figure out how to put music in and take it out, but then again what do I know. Anyhoo, one of my favorite porn flicks is Mobster's Wife, which has very little music, if any.

BTW sonic, I believe that particular number you quoted was Hillbilly Jim's entrance theme song in the WWF, and if this, in fact, did appear in a porn, I would find this news extremely funny

You got me! That tune is from WWF. LOL!
Buy you know where I'm getting at. I mean does the fiddle have to play?
I'm one of those also that would not want my porn with music, unless if it's of good quality, and played very low.
If you hear The Window from Vivid..you'll swear there's a disco playing somewhere in that scene! The music is loud!!! Sheesh. By the way, in The Window, there is this damn cute chic (her role was a hooker in this scene). Her face is so cute. Ohhh..I just don't want to comment on her bodacious ass.

I like music that fits with the scene - and is in the background so you can still hear the moanin.
I really hate when the music doesn't fit at all - like when they thrown on some really romantic music for a hardcore anal (like that ever happens - but you know what i'm sayin)

While I don't mind the lack of music occasionally, there are some time that it just doesn't work without it. For example, there's a deleted scene on the Electric Sex DVD that has no music, only the production sound (i.e. moaning, etc.). That's because the scene was cut before the music was scored. It is very awkward to see that scene without some sort of background music.
I think it's important to point out that there's a difference between a soundtrack that has music plus the production sound and a soundtrack that has ONLY music. I hate it when you can't hear anything...it's like an old-fashioned silent movie with the organist playing a music accompaniment.

What is the sound from now on was 5.1 but no music? Would that do? Like the moaning coming from the rear speakers?
A full speaker effect?
And for anal Steph..they should put high output on the .1 and no romantic music.
Yeah the sub should take control on that one.
Think about it. In an anal scene...WHAA TOOM WHAA TOOM...

Well, sometimes the music is good but I nonetheless like to hear the actual sounds. I hate it when you can't hear the sounds they are making or the talking going on. So if they're gonna do music they should do it right. Otherwise I'd probably rather just have the moans.
I would really like to be able to hear the actual sounds, very often they are not very discernible at all.
It would be a good idea to be able to enable or disable the music on a DVD.

DGF - that's a great suggestion. A seperate audio track with/without the music. It's conceivable that they could also put the unedited audio track on the disk too. I would love to hear all of the director's instructions. (I did hear this on a Vivid title once. Lexus was getting banged from behind on the hood of a car and the audio track is screwed up in this angle. You can hear the director telling her to turn a particular way so the camera can get a better view. Very entertaining.)
I can only imagine what a full-on audio commentary would be like for a few of these flicks.

That one did not come to mind.
If we the owners of the disc don't like the music, just disable it! That's kind cool.

Dude, I hate music in most flicks. I like the sounds of people having sex and the fake moans and screeching music drown out reality like pussy farts and stuff. when's the last time anyone heard a slurping noise when a gal is sucking on a cock?
That said, I thought the music in Shameless Desire, scene with Vivenne and Asia Carrera was very nice

I think it has to do with the quality of the music. Try taking a good disc like Enigma , Cake or Pink Floyd and turning it up while watching a good scene. It can be real fun to try and create a new scene by laying your own sound track over the video. I have done this onto VHS and it is surprising how much difference good music can make.
