i know in my days in the IT Biz that some people fuck things up just to bitch and moan at you for not being fast at fixing what there incompetent asses broke drove me nuts after a while so i got out .
the fact that you have hung in there as long as you have is a testament to your fortitude and wanting to be the best you can be at your job we need more people like you in this country from the top offices down to the gophers .

Perhaps because I'm not drunk, but I employ my own methodology of admonishments and praises to get the scene I want based on the psychology of the talent. I shoot so much, both Internet and video, that I can threaten a girl that I'll never shoot her again to get her to want to give me the best, or I can be there all day and wait until I get it cause I don't shoot generally outside of my own location. I'm aware you shoot fast and so do I. You pay on the spot and so do I. Using that little leverage usually perks up a girl considering we both use top level male talent.
Trust me I've had my instances in the past. The ever popular one and a half hour beer break with a complaining, bitching Tiffany Taylor. (Odd thing is, she would've finished the scene 2 hours earlier if she never bitched).
I've thrown girls off set because I heard bitching right off the bat. I've smashed tapes in front of girls when they gave me complaints and attitudes.
This is something I've learn to grow into over time. A girl knowing she just sucked dick and started fucking, and knowing I mean it when I'll complain to agents or throw the scene away, then showing them bitching and complaining on tape, and knowing the $1000 or whatever they would've made would never be in their pockets usually gives them incredible moments of clarity.
My sets are relaxed and easy. Everyone comes to me and we start from there including makeup. So you can see where we all can figure out what a little gentle coaxing or harsh bashing or a little of both can do.
This issue is simple, would you pay an archithec that would build your house and it fall all in piece 2 minutes after its completed? Would you pay your beer in a bar when you asked for a molson ex and got a budweiser? Would you pay your paint if you asked him to paint the house white and he do it green? Well all this point that if you dosen't get what you want, then don't pay the performer plain and simple. Ask them to continue as long as they give you what you want, if they are already not in the mood they could end up being tired and walking of the set themself and so break the contract, so no pay.
About that guy that said he wanted the real reaction of pornstar and tired of "faking" , well we buy that stuff so we want good performance, if if go see a hockey match and my team play like pee wee and loose 8-1 because they got a bad day, i would boo them out of the arena, because i paid to see a great hockey match, they would not refund 50% of my ticket because the match was not as good as expected.
So whitout looking like a bad thong, i would say to director, stop paying them for nothing, act ! Make them know your not the guy to mess with.
The other solution would be a comp titled like "The 10 worst sex scene i ever shot" with an advertisement like "see how bad performer these girls are" and such and sale it half the price of a normal vid, im sure people will pay to see that and girls could lost fans and oportunity, they would not mess up again.
About tiffany taylor, im surprise to ear that, she look so sweet, i saw plenty of her scene and not a single one was bad for me. So at least she deliver the stuff.

To bad Chico is not around would have loved to hear more about That Tiffany Taylor scene I was always a big fan of hers but she prorbably had a different side to. I saw Joey Ray giving the thumbsdown in a BTS sequence after fucking her when saying it was a great scene. I am not sure but she might have cursed to him after that.
Thanks again for bumping this Jaktarn. Might have missed it without it. I've always felt director's had a right to say what they want or expect from a scene or performers before it's shot. Wish more would speak up about it actually. As long as there is no baiting-and-switching, I think they're perfectly within their right. I do worry about possible abuse on both sides. The director trying to change the rules in the middle of the scene, or performers suddenly refusing to do something they agreed to beforehand. Now I wouldn't expect everything to always be perfect, but as long as there is clear communication from all sides, I think some of these things could probably be avoided.
Good old Chico. He may have had a fucked up personal life, we all feel for Hailey Paige's family; but he was a great porn director. His series of Un-Natural sex DVDs remain classics for me. Nothing says romance like anal sex.

If I was a producer/director...I would create an expectation dvd and provide it to ALL talent prior to shooting. I would go through my footage and put the best of the best on this expectation dvd. Hand it to the talent and say "watch this and practice this and be willing, able and ready..." There are a thousand girls out there...I will not dilute my portfolio..my catalog of scenes...either make it happen or expect a cab ride home. Mike...It is ALWAYS YOUR FAULT when something does not go the way you want it...a drunken rant is being a bitch...you know it...use your balls and make it happen...be the LION man!!! Come crying to this forum again when you are the industry and I'll send you out for pills just like girls get. I expect nothing but the best from you. I am disapointed that you have paid "kill fees" in the first place. You are not a social worker...bad scenes do more to kill this business than all other issues combined.
Can't say I was a fan of Chico's, but in these cases, although the $20 I thought extreme, I think he did what he had to do. Frankly over the years, I feel like I'm seeing way too much "diva" type crap from certain female performers. Some may simply just be having a bad day, which a lot of times is worked-through nicely. Some simply know they are hot and in demand, and simply show up acting like a true diva, with a bad attitude, and refusing to do stuff they agreed to. I think even a porn set has a right to expect a certain about of professional behavior. And I just say this to those woman, and I think they know who they are. If you don't want to fuck a guy, simply don't agree to fuck him beforehand. Problem easily solved. And to those directors who keep hiring or re-hiring them anyway. Stop! This is what is so hot about Jenna, the extra dimension that sets her apart from the crowd: She is the consummate porn professional. I have never -- never! -- encountered a scene, photo-shoot, interview, public appearance, etc. where Jenna doesn't deliver 100% and more.
It just strikes me that in the case of the girls, you guys are dealing with 18-25 year olds. Have you worked with girls (or guys) that age in other professions? It is a statistical fact that you can't count on them the way you can with older people. They are more emotional, less experienced with a work environment, not all have yet learned that they are not the center of the world, nor have they realized how important it is to make a good impression etc etc. You can't really fix it, there will always be an influx of new and less mature girls.
This is the first time i have read this thread .... am i the only one who got thrown off by the Chico post because i wasn't looking at dates? Not to sounds crass ... but it was like a Tupac moment. Now on to the topic of kill fees: One of my BIG pet peeves has always been ... even if you don't pay the girl a Kill fee because she is walking you still have to pay a kill fee to the male talent, male talents agency fee, still pay the location in full, your PA did their job ... so they get full rate, make up in 99% of cases was already done so there goes that money, now onto the director/camera guys fee and photographers fee. Guess what? Now your shooting schedule just got screwed up! If your at a tight ship like ZT that has several releases a month, what if that was the last scene and it is suppose to head to editing the following morning ... now the editor has to rush because you can't get him the scene on the delivery date. If he is out sourced, expect a rush fee. Worst Worst case scenario it gets to replication late and now you have more rush fees there and on your cost of box art printing since that was late due to the last scene creating a domino effect. Let's say even worse ... you have to move the release date and the DVD sales rep has already started pre-selling it. Well guess what, now distributors are annoyed! This is obviously a WORST case scenario ... But people really, does know one understand the thousands of dollars it costs when this happens? The time, effort and energy. I would venture to say on some days adult production jobs are just as stressful as air traffic controllers ... ok maybe that’s a bit dramatic ;-) My favorite part ... studios are just expected to suck it up! Pay the fees and move on. We have no recourse of action except for never booking the girl again. First..no should have, would have or could have..Second, this manditory viewing is not just for girls thinking about getting in the biz...(actually, that would be a different dvd) --It's for girls contracted for each scene...that's right, send the girl's rep co a copy of your expectations to keep on hand and provide to their girls when you schedule them. DO IT!!! Be the fuking LION Man! Think Lion...the male sends his harem out to hunt and then he comes along and eats whatever his fill is...then fucks them all later..again and again...get it? You provide protection and a stable environment...do what you say you will do, but they have to too.
